Just Spent a delightful weekend at the Hillthwaite Hotel. Stunning views await you in the dining room over a fabulous Cumbrian breakfast. Our room was spacious and also afforded a gorgeous view of the lake. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return for another stay.

Room Tip: Room 28 had a lovely lake view

Lovely position up a hill with good views but close to Windermere centre for shops etc. Nice and modern internally.

Attended for family wedding, did not stay. Standard room of parent seemed satisfactory and size was ok.

Service was good.

Food was good.

Would recommend and return.

Enjoyed our recent stay. Lovely room, fantastic views, staff so friendly. Food was amazing - everything top notch. Will be back! Room was stunning too. Excellent value for money! Not far from train station and central attractions either.

We had a 4 night stay in occasion room 15 as a birthday treat. It is one of the top range rooms, therefore more expensive, but definitely worth it. It was exactly as the pictures show. It overlooked lake Windermere and the snow capped mountains. The room itself was large, with good furniture and a lovely comfortable 6 foot bed with beautifully soft bedding. There were plenty of pillows and cushions. The bathroom was an absolute dream. Mood lighting, a very deep bath complete with tv on the wall disguised as a mirror. Large walk in shower, with overhead shower head that had a good force of hot water. The furnishings and colour scheme in the hotel were really lovely. There was a lovely indoor swimming pool with sauna and steam room which we made use of. Everywhere was beautifully clean. The staff were excellent. Special mention must go to Marco the restaurant manager but not forgetting the rest of the team. The service they provided was 1st class. The only small negative, was the menu. There was generally 4 starters, 4 mains 4 desserts and cheese and biscuits. Most days, one of the mains was substituted with something else. A couple of times we did not want anything off the main menu, so we ordered off the bar menu. A pasta dish would have been a nice addition. The breakfast menu was excellent with a good choice of buffet or hot food. The hotel laid on a lovely surprise for my birthday. I won't say what, as I don't want to spoil if for other people celebrating birthdays. A big thank you to all the staff at the Hillthwaite for making our stay such a memorable one.

Room Tip: Occasion room 15 has views of Lake Windermere and mountains in the distance.

Great hotel for short or longer breaks. Food, & location very good. Swimming pool on site, views are second to none with spectacular views over Windermere. The level of service received from the staff exceptional. As the name suggests "Hillthwaite " the hotel is located up a steep hill if your walking is poor then a taxi is probably the best option £5 from the centre of bowness. Ample free parking.

Room Tip: Request a room with views over Windermere
