Stayed for one evening over easter bank holiday. Reception is not always manned so you have to go into the bar for check in. The bar is spacious and clean & also where breakfast is served.
Can’t complain about anything here really, the room was clean the bathroom was large (and had a bath) the breakfast had a help-yourself system for coffee, juice and a continental breakfast buffet. The cooked breakfast menu was well varied and delicious. The staff were very helpful and extra friendly.

Came for a little break and chose the lamplighter because it was reasonably priced and allowed dogs. Its on the edge of windermere and a 25 to 30 minute stroll down to Bowness.(with small dog in tow). The room wasnt the largest but big enough for what we needed (superking bed though and very comfortable) cleanliness wasnt too bad little bit of mould bottom of shower, table with telly coffee/tea facilities badly marked and missing a lot of varnish. I didnt get upset about it. Breakfast 10-10. Staff lovely. I would stay again and i recommend it all.

Room Tip: Car parking limited

We stayed here over a long weekend last week. We found it clean, food was good, well presented though a touch on the pricey side... Our room (9) was large enough, en-suite was a good size too. The bar is well stocked with enough variety. Breakfasts were tasty too. It's handily located at the top end of the village, within easy reach of the train station and the main through road. Overall we we're happy with the place and would recommend it
