Aira force is a lovely place to visit, really pretty, and a really enjoyable walk. The only downside is the price of the parking which i feel is a little on the high side especially if you have children n you would like to stay all day with a picnic etc. Apart from that definitely worth a visit

We visited in the recent drought so the waterfalls were not exactly spectacular but this is a great walk nonetheless.

There's some good advice on here about walking up with the water on your right, unfortunately we didn't do that. There are a few alternative car parks and I think we chose the wrong one and ended up walking a different route to most. Whilst mentioning the car parks I must add, as others have done, that this is value for money. The National Trust does great things. We are members, maybe you could join too?

I feel as though this waterfall was majorly hyped up for what it is. When we got to the car park we realised we had to fork out £5 just for 2 hours of parking. Neither me or my boyfriend had cash so had to buy an overpriced magnum at the shop and then pay for parking. This meant that our leasurely walk would now have to be rushed just to get back in time. We set off and we’re completely lost already, there’s no signs at all and people kept approaching us asking where to go and which way led back to the car park to which we were none the wiser. We headed up and i was so disappointed with the waterfall, it took about 10 minutes to reach it and then a further 10 minutes back down a different route. We tried to explore the surrounding area but there was nothing. This can be done in about 30mins so don’t pay for 2 hours!!!

We recently enjoyed a morning at Aira Force while staying a couple of days in the area. Parking cost £5 for 2 hours if you’re not a National Trust member, but considering the walk you’re about to get we thought this was fair. We enjoyed our walk through the beautiful wooded area, beside the waterfall. We walked to the second third bridge and paddled in the refreshing water. There were lots of different options of walks to suit a lot of ages and ability. We went at 10am and it was very peaceful, as we were walking back down nearer 12 it was very busy. Would definitely recommend.

Pay the parking and go for it. Gem of the lakes.
Selfishly 2 hours for a fiver seems steep to any working man or lady but not when it gives you 2 hours of individual picturesque views which are unmatched anywhere else in England. Could easily pay 7 quid now for 4hours with the knowledge of what is there. Get there early. Take a camera. You can't go wrong on any path but keep the water on right on way up for best views.
