“Brilliant cottage in idyllic surroundings”
Reviewed 9 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

We cannot say how much we enjoyed our short stay in the cottage. Everything has been said by previous tenants. It is set in a beautiful village on a working farm and Mr & Mrs Trafford are the perfect hosts. As we will certainly be coming here again Mrs Trafford took the opportunity to show us the other properties whilst they were between tenancies and they are superb. Rebecca Cottage is a one bedroom and The Nest is quirky with a bedrom at one end, kitchen and shower in the middle and the lounge at the other end. Nothing is too much trouble for Mrs Trafford to make your stay enjoyable and we will certainly be back soon. Colin & Sue Gibson

“Excellent!”
Reviewed 23 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Just back from a weeks stay at the cottage with a friend to do general sight seeing and walking. Very impressed with the cottage and was better than I had expected. There was two of us and a dog, and even though I took a very large crate for him to sleep in, there was still plenty of room in the lounge and we even had the table out too. The kitchen had everything we needed, there was always hot water. A large bathroom a good power shower/bath and hairdryer. Both bedrooms had plenty of space. The cottage was warm, plenty of wall mounted (new) heaters and the fire meant it didnt get cold at all. There was also other plug in heaters dotted about, but can`t imagine you would ever need them. The farm and area is quiet, no road noise etc. We dealt with the owner who was friendly and there is always someone about if you need anyone. The village is very pretty, and is a short drive to Keswick and Cockermouth, which have everything you could need.
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone, if its just two adults like us, or a family, there is plenty of space and a great area to base yourself to visit The Lakes
credit to the owners for providing an excellent service. thank you very much.

“Good Cottage - Good location”
Reviewed 7 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Comfortable cottage, great welcome from helpful and hospitable owners.
Kitchen had everything you could need.
Better TV than we have a home, log fire with plenty of wood, comfortable beds,
All nicely furnished.
Kids walked the owners' dog, fed the chickens and ducks and were offered the chance to feed the lamb.
Good location on the northern edge of the lake district, handy for Keswick and Whinlatter forest.
Great Holiday.

We had a warm welcome with tea and cake from Mrs Trafford. The cottage is as described: 2 good sized double bedrooms, one with a single bed in it too. Family bathroom, big living room with open fire and dining table, small kitchen.
We enjoyed our stay and found it convenient for the northern lakes. We enjoyed seeing a new lamb, calf, and some newly hatched ducklings.
