Stayed here for a couple of nights as a base for sightseeing. Located about 10 mins from Kendal itself it gave great access. parking on site, clean rooms and a fantastic cooked breakfast. This is just what I look for and the owners are very helpful.

We had s great welcome and found a lovely room overlooking the mill race. Fantastic view. Rooms at second floor so a bit of a climb Sonia for the less able, but great for the rest. Nicely fitted out.
Excellent breakfast.
Good location for tourist visits.

Fabulous few days on the outskirts of Kendal. Very well placed for all major road routes but situated in a semi-rural location, this little guest house was a real find. Great shower, comfortable bed and rooms with views. Easy distance from Kendal, Sizergh and the amazing Levens Hall Gardens. Beautiful breakfast each morning in the conservatory (beautifully poached eggs and Paul's own whisky marmalade!). Thank you Paul and Granville for being so helpful during my stay.

Recently stayed here and we have had a fantastic time.

I booked the room online for my partners birthday and as I am a very light sleeper rang and spoke to Paul to see if the room was quiet. Paul let me know that the room I booked online was next to the road but as it was in a rural setting there wouldn't be much traffic at night....asked if there was anything else and Paul looked and moved us to another room that was at the front of the house overlooking the fields above the beck.

When we arrived Paul greeted us and showed us to the room which was lovely and the out look was stunning countryside.

The room had coffee and tea making facilities and was spotlessly clean and had a little balcony with double doors that you could open and let in any breeze.

It was my partners birthday the next day and I asked Paul to recommend somewhere...He let me know of a few local restaurants and we chose The Wheatsheaf Inn at Brigsteer....Great food and lovely setting.

Breakfast was great a choice of cereal and yogurt and fruit and then either a Full English or Poached Eggs / Scrambled Eggs / Beans on toast or a vegetarian option all delicious and hot as cooked when ordered.

Brilliant place in a great location to explore the lakes....will definately be going back as hosts couldn't do enough for us.

This Guest House was absolutely perfect for us. We booked into Millers Beck through Booking.com without much notice, yet Paul was very welcoming :) It was very easy to find with the help of Google Maps, and its very happily situated next to a brook which runs down the side of the Guest House (viewable from the Breakfast Room). Our room had views over the fields for miles - stunning!

Its close to a pub called the 'Punch Bowl' so we managed to grab some food locally rather than driving miles - always a plus! The room was really nicely decorated with some really lovely touches, and presented at a very high standard. The breakfast the next day was lovely. Large choice available from toast, to cereals, fruit, yoghurt and hot food such as a Full English. The best part was the home made Ginger and Rhubarb conserve (divine!). Would highly recommend!

Thanks again Paul for such a lovely stay and for accommodating us at such short notice. Will definitely be staying here again :)
