“Fabulous location”
Reviewed 21 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We have stayed at Sunny Bank Mill Cottages many many times. The setting is fabulous if you are dog owners or have children. Through their own grounds down to the lake. Wren Cottage is very comfy with lovely views over the fields and towards the lake. The walks from the cottage are great, you can walk beside the lake to Coniston or go in search of the tarns behind the cottage. You can give your car a rest while to go exploring over the fells.

“Excellent location, very comfortable”
Reviewed 30 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Excellent lakeside location, with the added bonus of canoeing on the lake. Wren is a comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage in a peaceful spot. Perfect as a base for walking or just enjoying the lake. Helpful and friendly booking team. We will visit again.

“Excellent little cottage, superbly placed”

Small but perfectly formed, sums up this charming cottage. Just right for a couple and ideal for dogs! Situated right next to Coniston Water was ideal for full on water sports or just a bit of paddling. We loved going out in the canoe. The dogs loved the grassy field to run about on. Daphne was so helpful when we were booking the cottage.
We had no problems at all with the cottage that I can recall.

Everything you need in this beautiful cottage. Home from home. Great communication from owner, who sent in the post all information about the cottage and local amenities. Plenty of walking nearby. The walk from the cottage along the lake shore to the top end of Coniston and back is great. Stayed the last week of May and we were very lucky with the weather. Went home with a tan!! Wouldn't hesitate to rent Wren Cottage again, have already passed the information on to friends. I would definitely pay extra for the canoes next time, great fun could be had paddling about on Lake Coniston.

“Cosy cottage in stunning surroundings.”

This cottage was a fantastic little place that was very clean and well kept. Everything worked well and the shower was fantastic. Communition was good and everything was well organised, ( such as the codes for canoe padlocks etc). It was very nice to have access to washer and drier in the laundry room although we were very fortunate with the weather and the sun shone all week. ( Made up for last year). The private jetty with the optional hire of the canoe was great fun. There are some good walks right from the front door with endless more only a short drive away. There was a warm welcome at the Wilson Arms at Trover but personally I found the menu a little limited although the food we had was excellent (fillet steak and pork stroganoff). This cottage allows dogs but you wouldn't know that any had been there, it was lovely and clean and we made every effort to keep it that way. The only suggestion I would make is that if the front door ever needed replacing in the future, a stable door would really work well. It would let a little air flow through and would be good for keeping the dogs inside (but they could see you if they wanted to) whilst sat out on the bench. I would have no hesitation in returning to this cottage, or even the big house if we could get enough people together! Thank you for a lovely stay.
