This cottage was a fantastic little place that was very clean and well kept. Everything worked well and the shower was fantastic. Communition was good and everything was well organised, ( such as the codes for canoe padlocks etc). It was very nice to have access to washer and drier in the laundry room although we were very fortunate with the weather and the sun shone all week. ( Made up for last year). The private jetty with the optional hire of the canoe was great fun. There are some good walks right from the front door with endless more only a short drive away. There was a warm welcome at the Wilson Arms at Trover but personally I found the menu a little limited although the food we had was excellent (fillet steak and pork stroganoff). This cottage allows dogs but you wouldn't know that any had been there, it was lovely and clean and we made every effort to keep it that way. The only suggestion I would make is that if the front door ever needed replacing in the future, a stable door would really work well. It would let a little air flow through and would be good for keeping the dogs inside (but they could see you if they wanted to) whilst sat out on the bench. I would have no hesitation in returning to this cottage, or even the big house if we could get enough people together! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely cottage, clean, well equipped, lovely peaceful location away from the crowds. The private field and lakeside/jetty were great for our dog.

This is the second time we have been to the Wren Cottage for a break. The location is brilliant for walkers or sightseers by car alike. The cottage is well equipped and cosy. The jetty is fab for taking out the canoes or just sitting on the bench overlooking the lake by the moonlight. Try it for yourself. Whatever the reason for your stay you wont be diasappointed.
