“Fantastic holiday - Glassonby Old Hall even made up for the bad weather!”
Reviewed 13 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

A thoroughly wonderful holiday and the house really made it for us. Fantastic atmosphere and character, amazingly comfortable beds and cosy bedrooms, and the best thing of all for me: a warm and welcoming eat-in kitchen with an aga where we had many very happy evening meals. The garden was great for the toddler in our group too. Thoroughly recommend and in fact we hope to return next year!

Liked best: The eat-in kitchen.
Liked least: It was a bit further than I'd expected to some of the major Lake District highlights, but that wouldn't put me off returning.

“Fabulous, relaxing weekend, creating wonderful family memories.”
Reviewed 14 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We booked Glassonby Old Hall for my fathers 70th birthday and our stay was magical from start to finish.

The more than ample hamper gets you off to a fantastic start. The dinning room in the heart of the converted barn with a roaring fire sets the scene for a fabulous evening filled with laughter.

With luxury feather linen on the bed, you sink into an uber comfy bed that claims a few extra minutes in the morning, back to snuggling down to more zzzz.

If you are looking for effortless luxury and a calm relaxing weekend, this is your place.

I'm sure we will be back.

“Fabulous”
Reviewed 21 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

What more could I say ,we rented elk cottage as well as glassonby hall .both properties are fabulous,.
Every thing that you need is at hand , ten family members all together. Seven members in glassonby and three in elk cottage .
All ate in glassonby.plenty of room in all rooms .played games in the lounge in the evening .
The dining room sat ten comfortably.
The area is stunning,so peaceful .
Plenty of walks to do .and the village of malmerby is lovely.nice cafe and a nice pub . Just what you want after a lovely walk .
The hall and cottage are both very well equipped for entertaining.the sun in the evening was on the back of elk cottage so we had champagne and a photo shoot in the beautiful garden .
Then dinner in glassonby .
The fires were already made for us so a quick match to light .and the hall was so cosy .fires in the dining room and lounge .
Cannot fine a fault with either rental.
As usual the standard was first class nothing to complain about .
Thank you so much to Jilly .so accomadating.small problem sorted within ten minutes late Sunday night .thank you

Hopefully be back to one of the smaller properties soon .

“A nurturing gathering”
Reviewed 12 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This was our second visit and we are already planning our third. Staying as a group of four couples we had more than enough space to spend time together or apart. The accommodation is luxurious - from the kitchen with it's large Aga to the (large) snug with it's roaring woodburning stove and not to forget the 'disco' well! The attention to detail is outstanding and we were very grateful for the hamper of goodies waiting for us. It is possibly the cleanest home I have ever been in. And it is a home - for the three nights we were there it felt like our home. Looking forward to all our future visits.
