We have followed the owners from South Cave and always enjoyed our visits to THE CAMERTON.
One of the meals tonight was not up to the usual good standard .
The salad with the rump steak was disappointing as the meat was more fat than steak.
However the real issue was when one of our party went to the gents toilet .One of the mail kitchen staff left the toilet WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS.
This is not hygienic .No wonder their are so many cases of sickness and diarrhoea.
We had booked for next weekend for a family meal out.We have cancelled this as we can't trust the HYGIENE now at THE CAMERTON.
This is a real shame as the staff waiting at the table and the bar have always been great.

We visited without booking a table after a family day out. They were able to accommodate us without a problem and it finished off the day nicely. They brought my youngest daughter the children's menu which is printed on a sheet of paper with lots of puzzles and pictures to keep her entertained while we waited for our food. I ordered the beef brisket which was amazing, my husband ordered steak and my eldest daughter ordered the chicken kiev. We all cleared our plates - although it was a struggle! Next time I think I'll try and save some room for one of the often talked about, home-made desserts. Its so nice to finally find a welcoming, family friendly restaurant that serves freshly cooked, delicious food.

Booked a table for 5 for 6.30 this evening and turned up to find a very busy pub. Got served straight away and shown to our table opposite the carvery which was very busy all the time we were there. The food looked and smelt Devine.
We went for the colossal burgers and chicken kievs, great choice. Very tasty food as usual, never disappointed here and the clean plates at the end speaks volumes. Rounded off with chocolate fudge cake, chocolate brownie and an ice cream sundae just about did us all in. Great service on a very busy evening, thanks again and see you all soon.

Literally just finished our food. Group of 11 booked a table for my brothers birthday.
Food was very nice, was waiting as long as you’d expect. Well presented and good portions for a decent price. We had carvery and off the menu- all clean plates.
The pub is clean and tidy.
The staff however were average and most of them looked miserable.
The waitress who initially took our order (light hair, short, medium build and glasses) was lovely and friendly and had laughs and jokes with the group. We didn’t see her again though.
They new it was a birthday booking and offered no little extras, but not everyone does.
We would definitely return here just hopefully the staff will cheer up and not make us feel like we are bothering them (not all staff)

Thanks Naomi T for you review
Our staff work really hard and try to be a happy as possible as well as being professional at all times
We were very busy on Sunday and we do not make a fuss of birthdays unless asked by a member of the party, as some groups and birthdays don't want fuss and attention - the like just to enjoy their own company- our service style is subtle and responsive and we are not intrusive to diners so they can enjoy their meals with their friends and family.

Glad you all had clean plates and enjoyed your food and look forward to seeing you again soon

First time visiting here for my birthday, chips are gorgeous also lovely fresh vegetables, I opted for the steak pie but was disappointed as the pastry was very chewy :( husband had a lasagne which he enjoyed and daughter had a burger which she enjoyed but said nothing special! I would eat here again but try something different, staff where very friendly and polite
