“Spacious cottage in a lovely setting”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This is the second time my family and I have stayed at Emerald Cottages. The accommodation is big enough for 2 young children and 2 adults, with room to spare. The property is located in rural Hertfordshire, but not too far from amenities and major roads (A10). The great setting adds to the holiday feel (even though I worked most of the time!) and the kids loved seeing/feeding the horses and sheep in the fields behind the garden. Verity and Steve are great owners and really make you feel welcome. We shall be back again next year.

“Absoloutely Amazing”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family in Hertford. This was our first holiday away with our young children and the cottage was just stunning, the photographs on the website simply do not do this place justice. The combined lounge/dining/kitchen area is enormous with high ceilings to give you a feeling of even more space. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for either a long or short stay and perfect for entertaining which we did on 2 occasions. The 2 bedrooms are also extremely spacious and come complete with t.v and built in dvd players, a feature our children were very impressed with. There is a main bathroom which is again very spacious and also an en-suite off the main bedroom with a shower so powerful both my husband and I were impressed. What made the stay for us was the 2 beautiful horses Nina and Darcy in the field not 20 feet from our back door, every morning the kids would run to the window to see them, they were so friendly and came to the fence every day so we could feed and stroke them. In the adjacent field were 2 sheep which the kids also enjoyed feeding and there were also countless rabbits in the fields which we all enjoyed spotting. We even spotted a bat one evening while sitting outside enjoying a drink and the views.

The welcome pack was lovely and Verity and Steve were both very friendly and were happy to answer and all questions the kids threw at them about the animals.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat and hope to return next year..

“Modern Country”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We rented Sherrie and PePe cottages. They're situated in the idyllic English countryside, surrounded by footpaths and vintage villages. Breakfast at Pearce's farm and a quick shop are a must. All details of the cottage, like modern appliances, clean, well-appointed kitchen and the welcome basket full of goodies made the stay delightful. Free laundry and BBQ were a plus too! The owners introduced us to the horses and Hebrides sheep on the adjacent property, all part of the charm.

“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed 12 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We stayed here for two weeks when returning to the UK and looking for a home. Verity and Steve were very kind and welcoming. The cottage was really lovely and had everything you need for both a holiday and a longer stay. Verity was so helpful and genuinely interested in our adventure which was lovely. The horses in front of the garden and the sheep made the stay for our two children who ran to the window every morning to see them.

“Excellent!”

Great accommodation with lovely views of the countryside including two very nice horses and a gaggle of rabbits! Welcome pack was a nice surprise as was the spacious accommodation. We would highly recommend staying at Sherrie Cottage.
