We chose to stay here due to it being close to the IOW ferry terminal so as to avoid a very early start and long journey. The hotel was easily found next to the railway station as was the multi-storey car park just around the corner from the hotel. A discounted parking rate (£4.50 for 24 hours at time of visit) is available if you get your parking ticket validated at reception on checking out.
The room was of the refurbished type with large TV and the cleanliness and comfort was as we would expect. We were a little surprised to a crack in the external window pane but this didn't affect the function or safety of the interior window.
We decided to eat in the Thyme restaurant for convenience having had some decent meals at other locations previously. Sadly though, the meals here were just OK and it seemed that they were just pre-prepared and re-heated. We also had breakfast here which was of the hot buffet type and this was of the usual standard. The only disappointment was that an ordered poached egg never arrived!
We would probably stay here again due to it's location but would look at other dining options next time.More
