Owner description: Southsea Model Village is a 1/12th scale village built in 1956. We are located on Southsea seafront next to the canoe lake and rose gardens. Just 30 seconds walk from the beach. There is also ample parking only 100 yards walk away. The model village is a delightful place to spend time for both young and old. We have a Toy Museum with toys from the past and present. An interactive miniature model fairground. The Rifleman's Tunnel which is 125ft long and holds our scale handmade model of Portsmouth Guildhall and Spinnaker Tower. Also our large g scale railway with Thomas And Friends, chugging around the Village which is especially enjoyed by our younger visitors. Not forgetting our own Castle over looking the Solent with wonderful views for miles, a perfect spot for a picnic. We have a great Snack Bar on site serving ice cream, hot & cold food, including Chips, hot dogs ,homemade gourmet burgers and baguettes with fillings of your choice all freshly made.

well worth a visit, it is a family run business and you can see the hard work that has gone into improving it, although we are in our 70s we both really enjoyed it.
although there are no toilets on site there are toilets at the other end of the boating lake where the miniature village is based.
we would certainly go back again.

We've been visiting on and off for something like 50 years. So lovely to pop in with our grandchildren and see that so much work has taken place. All the bits they love are still there; model railway, tunnel, fort on the hill. But all freshened up with some obvious hard work and fresh paint. In addition, the gardeners have been very busy. It all looks great now with extra benches, picnic tables and play zones. And we saw lots of extra special events advertised. Well done and many thanks for improving one of our local attractions so much. Not forgetting the black cat that has adopted the village.

Popped into the model village with our dog, who was made welcome, and enjoyed the display which was larger than I had expected, with a castle on the hill and a real tunnel, extensive G-gauge railway and loads of models. We enjoyed this, had our bit of cake in the picnic area below the castle and tried to spot all the sea forts. Nice end to mark our turn-around point.

Thought we might as well drop by as not many of these about and were very surprised. Although we were two adults (and children would love this) we still enjoyed all the scenes. For us it made a pleasant hours pause.

We visited here with our young daughter and enjoyed a pleasant couple of hours walking around the house displays with working model trains and flowing stream. Although this was on a Bank holiday and with congestion in most of Southsea, this attraction was not at all busy.

You will need nice weather to enjoy this attraction as the displays are almost entirely in the open.

And just be aware that there are no toilet facilities inside this attraction. Its a bit surprising but this fact was advertised at the entrance. However most visitors will probably only spend a couple of hours here.

The entrance fee is reasonable.
