Owner description: Southsea Model Village is a 1/12th scale village built in 1956. We are located on Southsea seafront next to the canoe lake and rose gardens. Just 30 seconds walk from the beach. There is also ample parking only 100 yards walk away. The model village is a delightful place to spend time for both young and old. We have a Toy Museum with toys from the past and present. An interactive miniature model fairground. The Rifleman's Tunnel which is 125ft long and holds our scale handmade model of Portsmouth Guildhall and Spinnaker Tower. Also our large g scale railway with Thomas And Friends, chugging around the Village which is especially enjoyed by our younger visitors. Not forgetting our own Castle over looking the Solent with wonderful views for miles, a perfect spot for a picnic. We have a great Snack Bar on site serving ice cream, hot & cold food, including Chips, hot dogs ,homemade gourmet burgers and baguettes with fillings of your choice all freshly made.

Took the grandkiddies to see the model village over the Easter holidays when the animals were there. As well as looking at the model village and meeting all the different and very well cared for animals we had to find Easter bunnies and a golden egg....lots to fill up the whole afternoon. They are doing a fantastic job renovating the village.

Visited the village with my two young girls on a beautiful February weekend. I haven’t personally been for close to 30 years. £7 for three of us.

Lucking out in the weather, we spent a good hour walking around and looking at the model village. It’s a little tired in places, but it was good to see them working on restoring the various buildings. The villages also include lots of moving trains which the girls loved.

One of my girls needed the toilet and was disappointed to discover it was public toilets only across the park, however they were very good at letting us back in again afterwards.

They also had a fair few picnic tables so we were able to have lunch near the model castle on top of the hill. They also have a very small children’s play area and an indoor area for children to draw on a chalkboard and on paper.

I note that they have ‘theme’ days - 2018 will include a small petting zoo and a Owl/Raptor day. I think we will probably return for one of these.

Overall - excellent value, 1-2 hours depending on if you are stopping for a picnic and weather.

Have been to the model village many times now but tonight trip was truly magical. They have done an amazing job of decorating the village for Christmas. My son loved meeting Santa and seeing all the lights.
Always excellent value for money. Friendly staff. Well maintained. Highly recommend visiting here.

Not well advertised, but located at one end of the boating lake. A typical seaside attraction from days gone by. All you would expect, train, boats, cottages etc. Worth a family visit. Won't break the bank. Believe its being progressively renovated
