“A superb Cotswold cottage”
Reviewed 4 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Coates Mill Cottage had everything that we could have wished for. It is perfect for two people and we loved the open fire, the peaceful situation at the edge of Winchcombe, the very comfortable bedrooms and the whirlpool bath. It has all been beautifully furnished and appointed. We would really recommend a stay here. The only small note is for dog owners to be aware that the garden is not fully enclosed so you may have to keep an eye out that your dog doesn't wander! Strongly recommend eating at The Lion Inn, walking to Belas Knap, visiting Hailes Abbey and farm shop and the delightful Mechanical Music Museum.

“Perfectly situated and luxurious cottage”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We loved our stay at this cottage, found that it was beautifully decorated, had fantastic beds and was located in a great location. The garden was lovely and was nice to relax in. The size of the property was just right for the 3 of us and our dog. It was also in a beautiful location for walking and taking the dog out for walks. The small village of Winchcombe is only a few hundred metre away and we visited it numerous times.
The cottage felt welcoming from the first minute to the minute we left, we would love to return and would happily use the cottage again.

“Excellent accommodation and location”

We were delighted with this location which is perfectly located for walks on the Cotswold way and within walking distance of the pretty town of winchcombe with its excellent pubs, bars, tea shops and restaurants. Four of us stayed in this cottage and although it is beautifully done out. We found it a little cramped for four adults and only one bathroom with combined toilet meant we had to be very organised. We agreed that we would return as couples but not four of us. The landlord was on hand and very friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable for the standard of accommodation

“What a fantastic find! We'll be back as soon as possible.”

The cottage was AMAZING - better than any other we have ever stayed in and far exceeded our expectations. We heard about Coates Mill when we stayed at Thirty Two, a boutique hotel in Cheltenham that's also owned by the same people. The cottage has a lovely private garden, amazing beds & linen, everything has been done so well. Not your average magnolia painted place. We were delighted with the area, walking distance to Winchcombe but feels like you're really in the middle of the countryside. We'll certainly visit again. Overall 10/10!

“Perfect location for walking and touring”
Reviewed 24 September 2011 for a stay in September 2011

Just on the edge of Winchcombe town, a short walk to quaint and good restaurants and bars and the beautiful Sudeley Castle. We stayed for 4 nights and walked from the cottage up the leafy lane to the Cotswold Way and beyond to the castle. Fantastic walking and cycling country. Gorgeous views everywhere. Belas Knapp and Roman villa only a couple of miles. The full on Cotswold villages nearby. Farm shops and butchers selling the fatty but fabby Gloucestershire Old Spot meat and sausages are a must. (try them with mash and onion gravy at the Wine and Sausage bar at the White Hart in Winchcombe.

Cottage is very cute and all the amenities you need. Nice touches - bottle of fizz, flowers and milk, tea coffee etc. Whirlpool bath and speakers in the bathroom add to the feeling of relaxation. We could have cooked but didnt bother, the local eateries were very good and we wanted to be lazy!

Not the cheapest but certainly in the best location. Peaceful retreat and very 'English' chocolate box. Not horrid and touristy as some places are and not a theme park either like The Slaughters.
