This unspoilt beach of white sand is generally frequented by the locals who enjoy all sorts of beach activities. To the right is a long stretch of rocks, with interesting rock pools and lots of mussels. The water, of course, is cold.

This is probably my favourite beach in the Cape Town environs albeit that it is a bit of a trip to get there from the city centre and is the last resort before you are in the Cape of Good Hope National Park, on the Atlantic ocean side.

The views on the beach looking towards Misty Cliffs (i.e on the beach and looking to the right) are simply mesmerising and stunning - breathtaking, particularly when the sun is out. It is probably an easierwalk to the left where the main beach is and this borders the Cape of Good Hope National Park which is not accessible from here.

There is a decent sized car park so you should never fail to get a space - some rather basic toilets and no refreshment outlet. The beach is generally not busy but being by myself I didn't have any safety issues and in my opinion, the beach views towards Misty Cliffs are some of the loveliest you will encounter anywhere in the world.

Do try and visit and I would be very surprised if you are disappointed.

Scarborough is a hidden gem within the Cape Town Metropole. Close enough to the city, but far enough away to feel like you are away. Has a lovely beach with rocks for kids to play in either side, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve adjacent, and is close to all the touristy peninsula things like Boulders for penguins, etc etc. The beach is not overcrowded, except possibly New Year’s Day, will often also have a river down through it to the sea and good waves to surf. Can look a tropical paradise, after a good south Easter.blow, UNTIL you put you foot in the water. It’s Atlantic, so it’s cold. Very VERY refreshing if you are hot and sticky. It’s a beautiful place that is fortunately OR unfortunately, being ‘discovered’!

What an absolutely lovely beach!! Came across it by chance and stayed a while.

The amenities are a little sparse, but the beach itself more than makes up for it.

Definitely one to visit!!
