“Cosy & Peaceful”
Reviewed 24 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

We spend a week in the Cotswolds in March most years to catch up with family & friends who live nearby and to go racing at Cheltenham. We stayed at Oak House this year and had the best time.
Robert and Cheryl are extremely welcoming - there was a lovely cake waiting for our arrival at Saturday teatime.
Being at the end of a cul-de-sac, the house doesn't have traffic driving past and is very quiet with views over the fields behind.
It is very well equipped with plenty of kitchen equipment including a dishwasher.
The central heating is very efficient and, although there is a wood burner in the sitting room, we never actually used it because we were warm enough without.
There's a good sized garden, which would be lovely in warmer weather but it was too cold for us to use during our stay.
There's a great pub in the village in very easy walking distance which does food while the nearest shops are in Stow-on-the-Wold, just a few miles away.
Would we stay at Oak House again? Most definitely. It's a lovely place to stay & we felt very comfortable there

“Lovely cottage, with wonderful views, great location for exploring The Cotswolds”
Reviewed 23 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I stayed in the cottage with my husband and 8yr old daughter. The cottage was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. The owners were very welcoming and left us with a few welcoming gifts, cake, little chocolates, milk in the fridge and fresh flowers. The cottage is located in a pretty village and there are lots of tourist attractions and pretty places to visit all within about a 30 minute drive. The garden is huge and backs onto fields, the area was very peaceful too. I would highly recommend staying here, it really is a lovely place.

“Excellent Holiday in the Cotswolds”
Reviewed 12 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

My Wife, 92 Year old Father in Law & I stayed at Oak House from the 6th-11th June. Cheryl & Robert were excellent hosts & provided very helpful information on the surrounding area. The House itself is ideal for up to 4 adults with excellent cooking & dining facilities. The is a large garden overlooking fields containing friendly Horses. The Cotswold Villages surround the area including Stow On The Wold & Bourton on the Water are in the immediate vicinity of Oak House & are well worth a visit. Dining opportunities abound in the area while Oak House itself is also set up for those who prefer Self catering. We visited Oxford, Stratford on Avon, Cheltenham Racecourse as well as a host of picturesque Old Worldly Villages. We had a great Holiday/Vacation in the Area & I would highly recommend Oak House to anyone visiting the Cotswold Area.

“Tastefully furnished house with lovely views”

Lower Swell is an excellent base for touring the Cotswolds. The house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with beautiful views over rolling countryside. The garden is large with the patio positioned to catch the afternoon and evening sun.

The house was well equipped and had everything we needed. The owners, living next door, were handily placed if we needed anything, but as it happened there were no problems. The provision of tea/coffee and a welcome cake was a thoughtful touch.

We intend to return and would be more than happy to rent Oak House again
