A beautiful setting in the Cotswold countryside. Lovely cottage with all the comforts of home. Walking paths on the doorstep. Adorable Soay sheep on the property. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will be back again if the opportunity arises.
Stayed here several years ago (a few years before 2016 but website doesn't allow for that listing) and it was a great delight. Hope to have another chance for a visit. Perfect spot for walking, great accomodation, friendly host. Can't ask for more.
I mainly booked the cottage because of it’s location to Hyde House where my daughter was getting married. I did however take into account the many excellent reviews before making the booking. We got what we expected, a beautiful well presented cottage, which had everything you would expect for a self catering break. We took advantage of the nice walks around the cottage. In summary an excellent place for a holiday
This was one of the most memorable places I have stayed. Evalina met us on arrival..the most warm and beautiful person I have had the pleasure of meeting. Her husband Daniel, came right over to sort out our tv issues...I felt as did my mum and sister, that Hyde Mill was home from home. Everything we needed was there...it is the most beautiful place.. the sheep..the river..the owls hooting at night...if you appreciate nature, superb accommodation, fantastic location and so much more importantly, beautiful people who love to chat and be appreciated...then Hyde Mill Cottage is for you...thank you so much Evalina and Daniel, Hugh and Rosie. Coming back as Doon as we can.
A lovely house, in a beautiful setting with exceptionally friendly hosts. Perfect for visiting so many attractions and amenities in the area. The cottage has everything you need. Outside there is a wonderful, clean and beautifully situated pool, alongside which is a tennis court - ideal to watch the kids in the pool whilst playing tennis. The cottage was immaculately clean when we arrived. The grounds surrounding the cottage were equally well maintained and presented. The river alongside the cottage was a welcome treat for my husband, and although he only caught one fish, he enjoyed an hour's solitary fishing every evening.
The children were in the pool every day, we played tennis almost every day, and on a couple of occasions the children didn't even want to go out sight seeing, or even go out for a meal, they just wanted to stay at the cottage. My daughter was thrilled when the owner Hugh took her along with him to feed his sheep - such an entertaining experience, and the most friendly ram I have ever known - Good Old Fred. My daughter loved feeding the sheep and fussing over the household dogs, especially Teal as he is getting on now.
The owners Hugh and Rosie are the most pleasant and obliging hosts we have ever met. They were very helpful with any queries we raised, and so incredibly friendly. It felt like we were leaving some very dear friends behind when we left, but we are hoping to return again soon - the childrens words, not just ours !!
We had a lovely holiday, even though we had one or two dull weather days, but it was always a treat to return at the end of each day (whether that be a long day, or just lunch time as the children were badgering us to get back to "the holiday house") to a beautiful cottage in a stunning setting to watch the day draw to a close.
I would recommend Hyde Mill Cottage to anyone without question.
