“A vacation house to make everyone happy”

Coot Lodge was an amazing house in a fantastic location.

Keeping a multigenerational family happy is tough but Coot Lodge delivered. We travelled with grandparents in their seventies, husband/wife with teenage daughter, and a mom and daughter (10).

Thanks for a wonderful vacation filled with abundant walks, swimming, shared meals, exploring oxford, going to football matches, adding seval birds to our life-list, and falconry and one pub lunch.

We cooked almost every meal in the house - the NEFF double wall ovens and cooktop was top notch. As a family who loves to hang out together, the open plan allowed us to putter in the kitchen and still talk with people at the sofas or the dining table. Coot Lodge is so much bigger than in the pictures. The loft game room/ sofa bed was a great place to hang out - giving everyone a little breathing room.

Having the Pool and Spa across the way was wonderful for kids and adults who wanted to go for a swim or use the gym on a daily basis. We used the Spa amenities (facials, manicures, massage) which were wonderful - the staff was nice and accomodating for my mother-in-law who was in a wheelchair. We did use the disabled shower at the spa for my mother-in-law as it was easier for her than trying to bathe in the stall shower at Coot Lodge. The spa shower was luxurious and well designed with lots of handholds.

“Beautiful space, well equipped, relaxed surroundings”
Reviewed 1 February 2015 for a stay in June 2014

My friends and I have made annual visits, staying at various properties on the lower mill estate for a number of years. It's always provided a great setting for a long summer weekend away with friends.

This particular property has the most character of any we stayed at, with a large double height open living area, well equipped kitchen and mezzanine entertainment area.

Customer service from the owner was excellent, she carefully mailed back a keepsake I'd carelessly left behind.

“Idyllic - just perfect.”
Reviewed 15 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The barn is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coot. A roaring fire, lovely surroundings and, with the TV not being in the main living area - lots of family time, reading, playing games and revisiting the lost art of talking!

We visited the White Horse in Uffington and had a bracing walk up to the castle. It was stunning and well worth the climb.

Malmesbury proved to be a hit with the whole family, The shops are quaint and the museum/art gallery was a surprise hit. The Abbey was beautiful.

The best part of the holiday though was Coot Lodge. If we could create out own perfect home, it would definitely resemble this amazing home from home.

Thanks, Liz.

“Fabulous house, great location and facilities”
Reviewed 8 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed at Coot Lodge with our young daughter and dogs over the bank holiday weekend and had a great time. The house is equipped with all you could possibly need and is conveniently located right across the road from the spa where the swimming pools are ideal for entertaining kids on rainy days. We found some wonderful dog walks round some of the lakes on the estate, and we enjoyed seeing lots of the local wildlife along the way. It's a beautiful place, and we'd highly recommend it.

“A wonderful place to stay in beautiful surroundings.”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We've stayed at Lower Mill a couple of times now and we always enjoy it. The atmosphere of the place is very relaxing and a great place for children. Our two (2 and 5) greatly enjoyed the pools in the spa, the nature trail, the treasure hunt and various other activities.

The house itself is very spacious, very well appointed and had everything we needed. The other good thing was that the terrace is enclosed which meant we didn't have to worry about children wandering into some water.

Liz was a pleasure to deal with and made the whole process very easy.
