We actually never got to stay in this hotel as they cancelled our room 2 hours before we were meant to check in. With a very vague excuse about maintenence. They could not even be bothered to contact us themselves it was trough a website. Terrible. So just be wary if you are staying here.

Stayed: February 2018

Was shown to the table but not explained menu choices, slow service to order drinks for the table then they took forever to come, even had to go and ask for the children’s drinks as they were a lifetime after the wine. Ordered the food but was like the waitress was writing an essay as she couldn’t seem to distinguish between the two menus they were running. The starters took an age to arrive and by the time the mains came we had been on the table for 2 hours!!! (& it was not busy!) Overall we were there for over 3 hours by the time we managed to pay the bill which we had to go and find someone to do. Lastly whilst serving the waitress tipped over a glass of wine which accidents happen of course but this went over two people and the waitress left us to clear it up whilst she mumbled something and disappeared. We eat out a lot and this was by far the worst service I think I have ever had:/!!!!

Had booked awesome room but realised after looking at photos that there was possibility the room had roll top bath but no shower. Find getting in & out of bath difficult so e-mailed to ask. Was told the room we'd been allocated was without a shower so they'd moved us to one with shower. What we weren't told was that we'd been down-graded to a superior room which is smaller. Apparently all awesome rooms had the bath but we weren't asked if we wanted downgraded or any explanation or discount offered. Room average. Mattress very soft & worn. Standard of cleanliness could be better.

Lounge area uncomfortable. Not somewhere you'd want to spend time in. Staff were friendly. Menu choices llimited and over ambitious. Will not be staying again

Room Tip: Room 2 overlooked the front but don't know anything about other rooms

Oh dear. From the outside this is such a gorgeous place and they've done a reasonable job on the interior too. But there's no substance behind the facade I'm afraid.

The waitress was very friendly, once we found her. We ordered at 7.30pm and the food arrived at 8.20pm. The neighbouring table arrived and ordered after us but got served before. Always guaranteed to annoy.

The food which arrived was not as ordered (although you have to have a long memory to remember by the time it comes). Bok choi was replaced, unannounced, with broccoli which meant the vanilla and star anise jus was now rather incongruous. My duck had clearly been waiting for my husband's goulash so was tepid at best. Pistachios on the dessert were replaced, also unannounced until it arrived in front of me, with hazelnuts, to which I am allergic.

I suppose I might have had a clue as to the standard to expect from the misspelt and grammatically incorrect menu, brochure and website. If you cut corners on marketing materials for a new launch, you're off to a bad start. Obviously I had time to proofread the whole thing while I was waiting.

In short, never judge a book by its cover. If they carry on like this, they'll be short of those too.
