If your thinking of staying at the dial house dont bother..pictures on their web site dont match up to what its really like..no comfy chairs no lit log fires no white tablecloths..we had to move rooms because our room was filthy..cobwebs..filthy skirting boards..and the mattress protector was absolutely disgusting..wouldnt stay there again if you payed me !!!!!!

Lovely hotel in the heart of the town. Room was lovely very nicely decorated and bed very comfortable. Breakfast nice with good choice. Bar prices expensive as with all hotels, why do they have to charge so much? Would stay again as reasonably priced. Staff friendly enough

The service here was painfully slow - both for us and the table next to us who had waited for 90 minutes for lunch. We waited the best part of an hour for 6 paninis. We won’t be returning any time soon.

Restaurant was quiet when we arrived and rather country modern inside with open fires.
Menu is varied and good pub food, we both chose the wagyu burgers which were AMAZING!! One of the best burgers we have ever had!
Only down fall was the service was really bad- the waiters were really pleasant but always seemed to be confused and seemed really nervous also, the room we sat in was cold and I sat with my coat on and they didn’t put the fire back on.
Would still recommend too people as the food was a really good and surprised us

I went to the Dial House for an afternoon tea with my friend. We got a lovely welcome as soon as we arrived and were shown to our table which was already set for us as we had booked previously. it's a lovely old building and perfect to spend the afternoon just relaxing. We were served with a variety of tasty savouries, not the usual sandwiches but hot home cooked pastries. As I'm someone with a sweet tooth the selection of cakes and scones couldn't have been better. The tea was free flowing and when they found out that it was my friends birthday we also got a complimentary glass of bubbly. Nothing was too much trouble the staff were great, I'm sure if we had put our feet up and closed our eyes they would have just tip-toed round us. I'll certainly be going back.
