A long weekend visit with our daughter for a birthday treat on a recommendation from our son who visited earlier in the year. . Very friendly and homely. Hanna was a great hostess. Lovely home and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was EXCELLENT and nothing was too much trouble. Will certainly recommend and be returning.

Hanna's guest house, which is her home, provides a very comfortable base to explore the Cotswolds. Bourton-on-the-Water is pretty, central and small enough to feel like a village, while offering the services of a larger town. Meadow Rise is in town, yet a block from High Street, so is quiet, yet a minutes walk to the Windrush. My room was substantial, well-appointed & included a fridge. The bathroom contained both a bath and the all-important step-in shower. I highly recommend Meadow Rise; Hanna is a generous and welcoming host. The garden is a delightful place for a quiet moment, too.

Room Tip: Ask for the double with a view of the meadow; beautiful.

My fiance and I stayed here for a night in the walking off-season and hence I think we got unlucky. We were given the room on the back which was pretty and clean but felt a lot like a bedroom in a grandmother's house. The breakfast was nothing extraordinary, and they don't seem to go out of their way to give a better choice to vegetarians. Maybe the meat eating people have better luck it seems, as I see from the other reviews.
I booked the stay here after seeing the 5 starts on TripAdvisor but was highly disappointed to pay 85 pounds for what turned out to be an experience that could have easily been replicated in a less expensive B&B.
