This was our second time at Weir Cottage.
It is such a beautiful cosy cottage & perfectly placed to walk into the village & visit the surrounding area. It is like home from home equipped with everything you could possibly need. Looking forward to returning in 2017. I would definitely recommend a stay here!!!!

“Simply Amazing! 5* luxury!”

We booked Weir Cottage for a week of much needed R&R and we were not disappointed. The cottage was incredible & better than we anticipated. It is located perfectly to get around the most beautiful village in Cotswolds & has everything you need. The cottage itself is full of character & spotlessly clean.
The beds were fantastic, slept like babies. The real fire was such a treat each evening to watch & listen to the crackle with dimmed lights sipping red wine.....just amazing. The outdoor space was fabulous too! so many places to sit & relax in the sunshine - this cottage literally had it all.
We were surprised to find a little starter pack of the basics had been left for us & inside the fridge was a deliciously crisp white wine for us to enjoy with compliments - thank you so much! That for me nudged the cottage to 6*! Genuinely the best place we've stayed in the area & most definitely be visiting again.
Please book if you are considering it based on this review, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Simply fantastic!!

“A lovely cottage”

This is a lovely cottage, very tastefully decorated and with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is perfectly situated in Bourton on the water, just a short, pleasant walk along the waterside into the centre where there are numerous speciality shops and plenty of tea rooms and bars for those who want them. Birdland is directly opposite the cottage for those who like to visit the attraction. A short drive from Bourton is Stow on the Wold and a little further, Moreton in the Marsh which has a very good market every Tuesday. The cottage has really nice outdoor space on both sides which is also quite private, where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine and it also has its own parking space which is always a bonus in self catering properties. I would definitely recommend Weir Cottage. Just one small critisism - being from a slightly older generation we found that although the bathroom was very stylish, the shower over the bath was not very practical as regards access, space and operation( the water temperature was manually controlled rather than thermostatically controlled) also the lighting was poor, having only a shaver light over the bathroom mirror, but this in no way spoiled what was a very enjoyable stay. And finally, if you are in the tall category........mind your head!!

“Lovely little cottage”

Stayed mid-week during August and had a lovely time, helped by the super weather. Cottage is small but beautifully formed, with plenty of space for the four of us. It is very well equipped, with a nice size kitchen/dining area and very comfortable lounge. The garden and courtyard area are very pretty with several tables and seating areas. It is ideally located, just a couple of minutes to walk to the pubs, shops and restaurants and immediately opposite the entrance to Birdland. The cottage is very child friendly with travel cot, high chair and stair gate. Not our first time to Bourton, but we were slightly taken back by how busy it was during the day, with a constant stream of people passing the cottage. This did not bother us greatly, but if you are looking for privacy this is not the place for you. The road is quite busy during the day also but quiet in the evening. We have a large car, so found the car parking area quite tight for space and it took a little manoeuvring to get in and out the gates. Not an issue, just don't expect though to park several cars. There is a public car park literally 75m down the road. Bourton is nice, feels a little stuck in the past which may be part of its attractiveness. For example, we found a couple of places that do not take card payment and many of the eateries stop serving in the afternoon. It can also take some time to get served in the day due to the large numbers of people. Finally, service in a couple of places felt more 1970s than 2016. I have left individual reviews so won't repeat here. Overall, a good short holiday and recommend the cottage.

“Charming Cottage”

We stayed at Weir Cottage during the Easter holidays and had a wonderful time. The cottage was a home from home, with the added comfort of a real log fire. The facilities were great, everything we needed was there. A short walk into Bourton on the Water, and a great base to explore the surrounding areas. All communications with the owner were great, nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend Weir Cottage and will hopefully be returning there ourselves!
