The apartment lived up to the reviews and photos on line. Everything was spotlessly clean and the apartment was warm and well appointed. The welcome hamper was full of treats. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The location was good for exploring the town of Rye with its many shops, pubs and restaurants. We ate out most evenings and also very much enjoyed 2 breakfasts at the Old Grain Store just around the corner. Another highlight was Sunday lunch at the Mermaid. Parking is restricted but there are several public car parks. We used the one right outside which was £7 all day. There is cheaper parking a little further away but we preferred to have our car handy given that the weather was not very kind to us. On one of the wet days we enjoyed a visit to the local cinema – Kino. There are nice walks around the nature reserve down at Rye Harbour. A walk around Winchelsea is highly recommended along with a visit to Spike Milligan’s grave in the church yard.
We found this property very easily from the detailed direction. The street entrance is slightly underwhelming however when you go upstairs to the apartment you are overwhelmed. It is perfect and in fact it looks
Ikea it us brand new. Everything has been thought og from the welcome hamper and flowers to the full unfitted and functioning kitchen. It is spacious and airy and perfect for two people. Situated overlooking the harbour and a great location for all Rye's amenities. The only downside it the limited parking but we were able to park outside for free over night and just paid after 9 am or before 7 pm. The only quibble I have is that this was not explained prior to booking however I would still recommend this beautiful apartment.
