Description: Porters Wine Bar is set in the heart of Hastings’ famous Old Town, at the bottom of the High Street and just a few minutes walk from the historic fishing quarter and seafront. Established in 1986, Porters is a Grade 2 listed building which has been recently refurbished and is a very popular family-run wine bar and bistro. Porters is renowned for its live music and features award-winning Jazz singer Liane Carroll on a regular basis; its excellent home-cooked food (locally sourced where possible) and its wide selection of beers, wines and spirits.

I reckon it must be 20 years since I was last at Porters and it seems to have barely changed at all......in some places that might be a cause for concern but on the evidence of my meal here, not in this case. It just feels like a place to chill and relax and the food, whilst not spectacular and cutting edge, is comforting and tasty. Pork Belly stir fry, jerk ribs and plenty of seafood were all delicious. Wine was reasonable and decent. Service, a little scatty but friendly and we weren't in any rush....happy to see it is still going strong :-)

This place is lovely, the food is amazing. We always have the roast when we come in. And they never disappoint! They are to die for. And very very plentiful! I can’t recommend this little gem if you are visiting Hastings! So lucky to have this place on my door step !!

Friendly, cheerful waitresses, what a treat! Great veggie food well presented and thought out. Mmm the hummus was well garlicky! I like that! Smashing secluded garden out the back.
