This is a beautiful part of the country where you can really escape and return to nature. I love to watch the abseilers. It's usually windy and cold but great for walks and you can grab a coffee afterwards to warm up.

Easiest to get to under your own steam with plenty of parking, but there is also a bus service or, if you are feeling energetic you can walk there. It is about five miles inland and most weekends there will be some sort of activity, most commonly parascending which is fun to watch. The participants are also approachable and will normally share details of their experience with you. This is also an excellent location from which to walk, either along the ridge or a more vigorous descent into Fulking and ascent back. There is a really nice pub (Shepherd and dog) about a 1 mile walk down but best to book in advance if you want to eat as it gets busy. It's easy to cycle to with a path set off to the RHS of the road, safe for children.

The views are fantastic of both the Sussex Weald and the south coast. The hang gliders provide added entertainment and the walks are good

If the weather is nice and the sky is clear then you can see quite far over the valley. It has wealthy animal population and a nice house to warm up. It's also part of the South Downs foot path so you can basically spend an eternity walking around there. Recommended for everybody!

The whole are is lovely but if you shoot off from Brighton on your bike towards the South Downs and head uphill towards the devils dyke it’s and absolutely beautiful bike ride and reminds you why you love to ride. I have shouted in glee (sounds lame now I know ) riding around this area on a sunny day.
