If you want to walk the south downs Devil's Dyke is a great place to start or to aim for along your route. We started there and walked for an hour or two along the many paths that surround it. Parking at the pub was easy and afterwards we drove to The Royal Oak at Poynings for lunch. It looked great but was being refurbished so we drove onto Fulking and The Shepherd and the Dog which was pleasant and worth a visit.

On a lovely day this is a beautiful place to walk .. but lately it is being ruined by people fly tipping and travelers driving their caravans up onto the grassed areas.
