Wow....just wow! My friend has been raving about this place for ages and took me for a birthday treat.... hands down the best meal I’ve ever had! Oysters..... incredible, scallops.... sublime, shellfish cataplana.... mindblowing and the service.... out of this world! Kay and Lorenzo could not of been more accommodating and kind! So lovely to feel welcome, well fed and not rushed! I will be back and soon I hope! 100% outstanding best place in town!!! X

Having watched a programme on tv about this restaurant thought we would check it out was surprised just how fantastic the food was. The staff were very attentive which is always a bonus. My fish fried in batter plus chips was the best I have ever had.

4 of us went for dinner, I can honestly say this was the worst meal we have had for years. We were “greeted” by the lady owner who proceeded to leave us standing in the entrance while she chatted to two people with a dog, got the dog some water and fussed him.. eventually she took us upstairs we were impressed with the lovely setting but that was the last thing we were impressed with sadly....the service was very slow . My starter - prawns in lobster bisque - the prawns were mushy and not the freshest.. my partners scallops were the smallest I’ve ever seen and were rubbery- they were so overcooked. They were followed by surf and turf- the ribeye steak was tasteless tho “35 day aged”. Our friends monk fish was over cooked and his kale was virtually raw. Our chips were nice!! Desserts were no better, I could go on... when asked at the end of the meal if everything was ok we did very politely explain the above and the lady owner came to talk to us.. she maintained everything was fresh.. her response was the she knew which section in the kitchen was responsible???? She did give us all a complimentary glass of dessert wine each. The prices are not cheap and we ended up paying £115 per couple for mostly inedible food.. but good chips!

Quite literally the worst experience of something cooked and put on a plate that I've ever had the misfortune to have to pay for.
Portion sizes beyond small (scallop black pudding & pea purée) whilst served on a cold plate could have easily been served on a desert spoon.
Monkfish main hadn't had the grey sinew removed prior to being wrapped (or should I say hidden) in prosctto together with being served on a floating bed of uncooked kale made this an exceptionally unpleasant dish.£27.50 !!!
Having explained all of these and other issues with the owner was under the distinct impression that she (whilst being a lovely person) was completely clueless regarding anything to do with food or service.
Other people in our party had steak (that tasted of nothing ) & prawn that whilst advertised as fresh , quite definitely were not. Prawns also murdered ( over cooked)
In summery
Seriously overpriced attractive restaurent in a perfect location gifted in the ability to avoid delivering the simplest of food on any level.
Sorry forgot to mention the chips were fantastic.
