I booked this for new year, for a party of six of us (three couples). Every year we go away to the coast somewhere and book a cottage, and have therefore seen the good and bad of holiday rentals. Church Passage Hastings is a fabulous little find. It is cosy, with wood floors and original features, but has a well-equipped kitchen and - crucially for a winter break - great central heating. It also has excellent touches that you don't find elsewhere, like really good qality bedding. It is also right in the midlde of the old town, and yards away from the wonderful Jenny Lind pub. Hastings is getting more interesting as the years go by, with a real quirky vibe in the Old Town, with lots of great shops and artsy cafes (though the new town is still a dive). We had an excellent few days at the cottage and would definitely book it again. The only thing that I would add is that parking is not great. The cottage is in a small alleyway on the side of the church, and parking in the Old Town is near-impossible at the best of times. so what we did was drop our stuff off, and then send somebody up the hill to park at the top. I would also say that the owners could get some better pictures done, because the ones we saw did not really do justice to the place. Anyway, it's a great cottage and would recommend.
