We loved staying in this spacious house near to the beach. It was beautifully decorated and we immediately felt at home.
A great home from home. Very spacious and well equipped. Only a short walk to town or the beach. There is a garage at the back of the house which at first sight looked very tight but was straight forward to reverse into. The garden and seating area was very good and used for drinks and a BBQ. Would happily go back again.
Thought the Sandcastle was in an excellent location for either end off the town and the shops. The house had more than enough facilities especially having the extra TV/ games room which the kids loved. All the rooms were spacious and clean. The only downside was the parking which has not put us off as we have booked to go back next year. Also the owners deserve a huge credit, we the dishwasher broke we had a new one installed the next day
This property is located just outside the town's parking restrictions which is why parking can be a bit restricted. Usually easy to find space for one car near the property but two can be difficult. This is where the rear garage comes into its own although the access is quite narrow and fidly.
It is well appointed with good decor except for the kitchen extension which had peeling paintwork. Well stocked with kitchen equipment and towels with an easy to use washing machine. Also has 2 TVs downstairs and one in each of the double bedrooms. Good wifi. If on the top floor the three flights of stairs will keep you fit. Small garden with furniture and fully enclosed so small children are safe. A variety of extra equipment such as beach spades and buckets if needed.
Beach was 15-20 minutes walk with small children (2 & 4 yrs) but advantage of a busy steam railway and play park on the route to keep them occupied. Two supermarkets (Co-op & Budgens) plus other small food shops at 15-20 minutes walk. Otherwise need to go to Poole or Wareham.
Unfortunately not that clean on arrival (crumbs in toaster, and barbecue not cleaned at all) and one bathroom was unusuable because of the smell even and still present after 1 week. Owner and cleaning service failed to solve during our stay so the remaining bathroom was a bit busy in the mornings for 6.
Also all payments via cheque or bank transfer (so outside website guarantee scheme). However all went ok and deposit returned promptly.
Swanage was great when the sun shines. Less to do it it rains - we found minature village in Corfe and the acquarium in Bournmouth were good.

A lovely, spacious, well presented house. There were 8 family members in our party and this house had more than enough to accommodate us. The ages ranged from 45 years to 13 months. We were able to walk to the beach and shops which took approx 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again when in Swanage. A great holiday...
