Arrived on Dec 30th for three nights to see in the new year with my son and daughter-in-law plus two granddaughters. The heating had been left on, perfect for the weather. Just like the cottage warm and toastie. Everything you need is supplied, cot for the infant, high chair, stair gate, radio in the bedrooms. If you were to buy this cottage you could move in without moving Anything out. Close to the station for the steam train. An extra five minute walk and your on the beachfront. I'm not surprised this is a very much sort after holiday let.

“I wanted to take the cottage home with us”

This cottage is nicer than my house! As soon as we opened the front door, I felt at home. It was clean, tidy and nicely decorated, yet it still felt homely. It's close to the train station (obviously) but also only a short walk to the beach - tip: as you come out of the front door, don't go left towards the railway, walk straight on and there is a cut through from Chestnut Mews to the main road - the railway road is nice but there is no path so not ever so safe with little children. It's in a nice area and it's detached, so no noise from neighbours. Our children, especially our 3 year old son, loved the Thomas the Tank bowls and cutlery and also enjoyed the Thomas DVDs. Our daughter was very upset to be coming home! Thanks again George and Janice for a lovely stay. We will return to Swanage one day and I won't consider staying anywhere else!

“Excellent location”

Excellent location, beautifully furnished house, courtyard garden with table and chairs. 10 min walk from beach. Near local supermarket, so very convenient. Everything worked well in the house, no problems at all. Comfortable beds and 4 year old with us enjoyed the bunk bed.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 23 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Stayed at Steam railway cottage for two weeks. It was the perfect base to explore the local area and great for our 2 year old. He loved going to the station and watching the trains.
The house is cosy and comfortable abs from the moment we arrived we settled in straight away. Everything we needed was available including cutlery, plates and cups for younger children. Safety catches on doors also gave us peace of mind. The outdoor patio is secure and great to have a bbq. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who has young children as there us so much to do within walking distance. Poole and Bournemouth are not far by car if you wanted to travel further. We will be going back there again.
