Proper hearty food at a very high standard. Limited options (quiche, soup, pies, sausage rolls...) but ok since they can then clearly focus on the quality. No children’s options but sharing a few dishes amongst us, they loved them all!

Went in for a full English breakfast and were not disappointed!! The homemade sausages were beyond amazing and we were able to swap out the mushrooms for an extra meat option at no extra cost.

Very friendly staff welcomed us in with no wait at the door. Loved the rustic feel of the decor and will definitely return soon :)

Absolutely fantastic Easter Sunday lunch here. Two of us had the beef and two the roast lamb. Both were fantastic and accompanied by all the necessary vegetable sides. Yorkshire puddings as standard with any roast much to my partners delight. Definitely recommend this as a place to go. They even gave us some free tea bags to take home as we were struggling to find somewhere to buy some on Easter Sunday. Fantastic service.

The Pig is a fairly recent entrant to Swanage and has a justified reputation for excellent lunches, particularly the quiches.
We ate there on Good Friday evening and the experience was patchy
First, we were sat on stools at a highy bench-OK for a snack and a quick drink but not really suitable for dinner.
Second, they ran out of fish.Good Friday is a day when fish eating is the norm and the response is to order more not run out.
Service was painfully slow.
The food itself was not up to lunchtime standard and portions small.
in fairness, the manager docked one course of the bill in view of the above.
Most people in Swanage want the Pig to succeed but it it is up against the Black Swan and as well other Pubs with as good but cheaper food.
the layout needs a good think through.
