“Fantastic house with everything you could wish for!”
Reviewed 20 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

9 of us stayed at this wonderful house last weekend and everybody without fail thought it was gorgeous. It was very big but with a cosy feel to it. The rooms were spacious and well furnished. It was very clean and modern with all equipment you could think of. I liked the little areas for quiet moments but also the rooms with furniture enough for all of us to sit in.The kitchen is open plan with all mod cons. And they work!!! The bedrooms were lovely. Very comfy beds, 3 of the 5 bedrooms were ensuite with wardrobe space too. Plenty of space in the rooms for you to 'live' in. All bedrooms had their own TV which is always useful - especially if your husband wants to watch Match of the Day secretly when everyone else has gone to bed!!! The disabled downstairs room was really lovely but perfectly OK for non disabled guests. We had this room and apart from a lower than normal sink it was fine. Outside area fantastic. Great views, peaceful, you could see the stars at night. No pollution. Lovely. There is a country walk you can take. There is a small lake with ducks and swans on. Jane and Charles have 2 dogs, Otter and Martha and I can tell you the complaints I had all weekend - where are the dogs?? We all wanted to see more of them. That really was the only complaint :-) It's near to local pubs and restaurants which were also gorgeous. We just couldn't fault this place. Thank you so much.

I am so pleased that you had such a lovely weekend break and enjoyed some of which the Lodge has to offer. I agree the night sky has been amazing recently - the stars so clear and vivid and we are so lucky for the peace and tranquility.

Apologies that you did not see more of the dogs, Otter and Martha! - Otter particularly enjoys playing in the streams with Guests but Martha can be quite shy!!

I do hope you visit again sometime and can enjoy the Lodge at a different time of the year, when the fire is roaring - its blissfully cosy!!

“A perfect break”
Reviewed 6 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We stayed at Tincleton Lodge with four friends. We have been spending a week together in February for the past twelve years, staying in cottages all over the UK. This property met all our needs from the wonderful log fires to the comfortable sofas and well-equipped kitchen. Bedding, towels, china, cutlery etc were all of excellent quality. Jane and Charlie were wonderful hosts and looked after us, making sure we enjoyed our holiday. We fell in love with Martha, their little dachshund - one of our number would have happily brought her home in his pocket!
Of all the places in which we have stayed, this certainly ranks among the best.

Thank you for your review and I am so pleased that you had such an enjoyable stay with your friends. So many of our Guests enjoy Autumn and Winter breaks, not only are they so reasonably priced but its a wonderful time of the year to enjoy brisk walks around the meadows and Nature Trail on the farm and then return to the blissfully warm Lodge with woodburner lit on cold days. There is an abundance of wildlife and the scenery is stunning.
Please do visit again.

“perfect break”
Reviewed 3 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

I booked this cottage for a surprise 50th birthday get together. An ideal location for short or long breaks - very close to Thomas Hardy's cottage in beautiful Dorset countryside, with Dorchester nearby. Comfortable well-kept cottage, furnished to a very high standard which made for a very relaxing stay.
