Our first time here...we had almost given up on good food in Torquay! This restaurant was a breath of fresh air. We were met on arrival, our table was ready and a drinks order taken as we settled. The manager came over to check we were OK and then explained the menu and the "specials" on the blackboard. Help was given as we asked questions...as we do not speak or read Italian (the specials were written down in Italian)...

The food arrived in a good time, and the starters were very welcome and very good indeed both in quantity and in quality. The Carpaccio was excellent and I fully recommend this to start. We all had a different main course ranging from spaghetti carbonara, bolognese, steak, sea bass and lamb! The two stand out dishes were the steak with pepper and mushroom sauce and the lamb with cream and mushroom sauce. The small crisp sauté potatoes were a magic touch.

As for the puddings! well, a chocolate lovers paradise.

Coffee and liqueurs to follow made this an exceptional night.

Well done and thank you Biancos.

We visited this restaurant with our daughter earlier in the year and looked forward to a nice meal. The restaurant has good decor and a pleasant atmosphere. We ordered our drinks, then ordered from the specials menu, and were then told that the menu includes wine - but we had already ordered our drinks before we were told this - so we took our bottle with us. We ordered steaks but found they were relatively small and a bit chewy although the sauce was tasty. We were looking forward to the 'Choice of gateaux' for dessert as per the menu, but the waitress said they don't actually offer gateaux - only ice creams, tiramisu and cheescake - and none of us really like those.
We mentioned the above on paying our bill and the manager was very apologetic. We were happy to pay for what we had, but were a bit disappointed as we were looking forward to a special meal.

Visited whilst working in area
the midweek menu is a absolute steal. 2 courses and a bottle wine if two people pay 22.95, its worth every penny.
meat platter to start is of very good quality,

I've been visiting Biancos since 1998, and with my husband for 16 years. We also thoroughly enjoy visiting their newer restaurant over the road called Amicis. Always a great atmosphere, attention to detail and fantastic food. The owner is very hands on and makes us feel so welcome every time. I recommend both restaurants for any occasion, great for group bookings and quieter more intimidate meals. Thanks again, Fleur

Pleased with our choice of restaurant, the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Only thing I felt was, as this was a special occasion and I had taken balloons to celebrate the occasion was that one of the staff could have wished us a happy birthday or something to mark the occasion. There are plenty of local restaurants from where I am from that really go out of thrir way to help a celebration and I felt this was very poor at this Italian restaurant.
