The restaurant seems to specialise in local seafood with Greek influences. The food was fresh and well cooked. All portions were generous and very good value for money.

We had scallops and crab with avocado starters. Followed by seafood Thermidor with vegetables and sautéed potatoes; and fishermans platter with fries and Greek salad. The seafood was tender and well cooked. The chips and potatoes were very good too.

The staff were very friendly and made us welcome.

The decor is retro (mid C20th), with tasteful prints on the walls. The restaurant was busy with a good atmosphere.

Visited this restaurant on the barbican today and was so pleased from start to finish. The waitress was warm and friendly and made us very welcome. We had drinks and then ordered food which was absolutely delicious !!! We were actually amazed at how good it was. Although you could say the decor was a little dated it was spotlessly clean which included the toilets. Well worth a visit.

Last night we were recommended to try The Village as a restaurant which "doesn't rip off the tourists". We turned up without a booking as it was a Monday night, but the place was busy which is usually a good sign. We managed to get a table for 3 and ordered the seafood pasta times 2 and the fried calamari with a bottle of th house red and a Greek salad. I have eaten a lot of spaghetti marinara in my day, and this one is close to the best I have had. Mussels, scollops, fish, calamari, and prawns with a light tomato sauce. Fantastic flavours. The Calamari was good too. For a good food at a fair price, I reckon The Village in the Barbican is worth a try,

We were a walk in party of four people (three generations) on Thursday 15th June 2017. The staff were absolutely fab, welcoming, friendly and attentive. The menu was varied and we had a cross section ordering (as main courses) Fish, Lamb, Moussaka and Kleftico. All of which were plentiful and beautifully cooked. Couldn't fault anything and would definitely return if we stay in Plymouth again.

We were there having a late lunch at half past 3, and the restaurant is almost empty with just an old couple just about to leave. The service is wonderful, probably because we are the only one the waitress has to serve. The meal was really nice, we ordered the 2 courses for 9.95 (a promotion). We ordered a soup with bread and garlic mushroom for the starter. And fish n chips and seafood risotto as the main meal. Highly recommend the seafood risotto, it has lots of seafood in it, and the taste was wonderful and is in a big bowl, tried but could not manage to finish it. The garlic mushroom is a bit oily, but still taste good. The other two was ordered by my friend, she says the fish tasted a bit weird, but it is alright.
