excellent for walking the dogs, what ever the weather., a very popular place, and even better when the ice cream van is there in the summer months.

Loved this place as a kid when we used to go with family years ago. Went with my family now and I hasn’t changed in the last 30 years. Great for all ages, lovely walk up the river or for a picnic and just relax in the sun or shade
Kids can go hopping over the rocks and paddling in the warm pools of water, once the sun has warmed them up.

Thank Benjamin C

A nicely kept and open piece of National Trust land. My wife and I have used this area almost daily during the total of 12 years out of the previous 18 and have almost always had a good experience. It is a popular place with mainly considerate dog owners (occasional exceptions!) and whilst sometimes busy during the summer months, it provides a fairly peaceful retreat to relax in. It's occasional failing is the periodic vandalism caused by unchecked groups of delinquents who seem to delight in trashing the place and leaving their detritus all around. The NT Staff work hard to clean up the rubbish wantonly dumped all around by this disgusting minority, but are sometimes hard pressed to keep up, despite the help that is regularly offered by volunteers. Overall though, this is a nice place, well husbanded, by good people and as a rule, a delightful and calm place to wander in meadow or woodland. An all year round available piece of Devon countryside, with the lovely River Plym flowing through it.

Thank Alan P

Great for cycling, dog walking, Nature lovers, Doggers, Larpers.
many carparks can be found near plymbridge woods, during warm weather you can often find one of Plymouth washed up former Rock DJ's serving Coffee from his van. or sometimes an ice cream or 2.
during breeding season there is also a area to watch the peregrine falcons.
Plym Valley was also home to a few quarrys and some of that history can still be seen. though the signs are a bit worn and gratified.
Theres also a steam railway for those who like a good ride.
during the summer by day the river is often rammed with value priced inflatables
when broken some are left behind. Condoms & Beer Cans can be found in bushes near to the river where folk have been camping (the legality of camping should be reviewed if you intend to camp there.)

regardless of the more rambunctious members of the local community the area is still a great place to visit.

Have visited on several occasions, each time on my pedal cycle. Found it really easy to get around as long as you start at the top, otherwise a long climb to get started
