At least the premises have come back to life. We called in early one evening just to pad our insides before a few pints. It's OK and there are other places selling the same a few doors along.

Returned to Plymouth for a few nights and this place was first on my list for eats.
Amazing food, never eaten anywhere as good. Love the chateaubriand, puds always fab, service second to none.
If I was a condemned prisoner I'd want them to cook my final meal!

Came by today and sadly the place is closed with half the window occupied by a huge To Let sign. It once looked tempting but seems to have attracted almost no trade.

Finally the 'We are open' signs went up last week. At the moment the white walls are plain and the decor a bit Spartan. The extent of the business is a bit confusing. The sign say Barbican Bistro and refers to Fusion but the menu is predominently Indian. The takeaway menu refers to Barbican Balti. Our contact has been brief and we await some more obvious signs of flavour character and strengths. We will keep checking. So far, nothing spectacular although it is relaxing and low key compared with the brash Eastern Eye a few doors along.

These premises had been empty for ages. Then about to months ago decorators and sign writers arrived to sort the front windows and paintwork proclaiming the Barbican Bistro a combination of fusion cuisine eat in and takeaway. Now proceedings seem to have stalled and despite the hectic busy season for the dozens of nearby cafes and restaurants this intriguing project is still sleepily empty.
