7 of us had a family meal here and everyone thought there meal was great.
Son had slices of grilled steak as he is fussy and said it was the best he had tasted.Recommend the crispy salt and chili chicken.Nothing was a problem for the staff. It was quiet at this time of year but food and service was great

Thank alan c

The last time I ordered take away from The Hoe Cantonese, I vowed I would never return. However, against my better judgement, my family assured me that it had improved. Well...it hasn't. I can cook good Chinese food, and the meal we ordered was nothing like Chinese. It was terrible and full of MSG. The misconception about MSG with Chinese restuarants and take aways is that they think it improves their food. Well it is a 'flavour' enhancer and if the food taste terrible, it enhances that. Consequently, I woke this morning with a thumping headache, and a dry throat and mouth. Why do people think this is acceptable. The stuff that is served in most takeaways is not Chinese, it is what the Brits believe Chinese food is. Chinese cuisine is one of the finest in the world and the flavours are subtle and exquisite. The food is regional and each region has it's own unique flavours. Why are these people still managing to serve such awful junk food?

This is a good little restaurant minutes from Plymouth Hoe.

We enjoyed a great meal and the owner brought out some less spicy starters for the children as a little treat.

Couldn't fault the food or the service, it's a shame it is busier.

The decor is a little tired and dark, almost a tacky Indian restaurant feel, deep maroons.

For us it was a great child friendly Chinese restaurant to take the children too, a lucky find thanks to trip advisor.

Came here by chance this evening. Although we were the only ones eating in the restaurant, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Sandra who worked there was very friendly and welcoming and the food was really tasty. Will definitely come back for a sit in meal and from now on be using it as our local takeaway. Thank you for a lovely evening.
