Visited for lunch this week, husband ordered the soup, although tasty, the portion size was tiny, in the smallest bowl you ever did see! Ok, so it was only £5, but I would expect a decent sized bowl for my money. There was 2 pats of butter to go with a small roll, there was more butter than bread.
On a lighter note, staff were very friendly & service was good, but best of all was the cloudy cider.....very nice.
Will visit again, but not to eat.

It is in an excellent setting but several visits over the years have proved disappointing. An ownership change and something of a makeover had taken place and some friends told us that it was now better. Our recent visit for lunch when we both had fish and chips could not be faulted but we have tasted better beer battered cod, and the lady taking our order was most unfriendly. On entering the establishment I could not help being put off by the sticky bannisters which seem to come from a spray cleaning substance often also used on tables although their tables were not too sticky. The price of drinks was almost alarmingly high and we felt that the overall price for a fish & chip lunch was excessive in spite of the pleasant location.

Five of us ate here and all enjoyed our meals. A great choice of both gluten free and vegetarian dishes . The portion sizes are plentiful and meals extremely taisty . Staff friendly . We will definitely be returning

We found this pub restaurant about 4 years ago after moving to this area and we have been back numerous times.
The food, view and staff have never disappointed us and we shall definitely be back.
One word of warning is to make sure you give the staff your vehicle reg number if you are using the pub carpark as it is monitored by a private company.

I would definitely recommend this place for an all round great evening. From the welcome and service we received, to the food we ate and the view as well. I only live up the road but it feels like another world. Shame we had to leave abruptly due to crying toddler back at home
