“A lovely little hideaway ”
Reviewed 30 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Stayed here for four nights and loved it.. complete getaway from the usual holiday hustle with enough to keep the kids entertained. Huge fields over the back, a small play area and a games room were enough to keep them happy and away from devices.. Also a challenge to find my little lads secret dens at the front of the park.
Run by a dedicated couple who go above and beyond welcoming you personally with homemade cakes on arrival and the offer of a very reasonably priced cream tea which you simply must try. My wife liked the cakes that much we brought some home..
The local area offers more than I can list here but it is an area of outstanding natural beauty and there are some real gems.. lyn gorge, watersmeet, valley of the rocks to name but a few..
You really have to go there.
Ps.. A tip.. ignore your sat nav off the M5.. Take the A39 to Minehead and up over Exmoor.. You may just catch some free roaming horses there.. Mind the steep hills though ;-)

“Lovely”
Reviewed 7 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This is a lovely place to come for a short stay. It is quiet and there is so
much to do in the area. Even in the worst of weather we were busy everyday. The beaches around the Exmoor are gorgeous. I wish we could have seen more.

The cottages are attached to each other, however, you can't hear anyone next to you. The view out your window is lovely and I could have read a book and relaxed with a glass of wine, if I didn't have 2 little storm troopers attached to me 24/7. There is a little play area out the back and you can have a barbe and the kids can play happily. All safe and pleasant. The owners have only been there for a year and are helpful, kind and caring. I left my child's toy duck and there colouring stuff and they happily sent it back to me. Which is very helpful and thoughtful.
Overall a great place to be, but be prepared to pay for your heating as an extra cost. For a week (very cold week) it cost us about £40. So add that to the total amount. I would imagine summer would cost nothing.
I would definitely go to Dean Steep again. Therefore recommend it whole heartedly.

Thank you for your great review. We're pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are always happy to return forgotten items, especially children toys! It is true that in cold weather it will cost extra for heating - the previous owners found it necessary to put in the meters as they found that some people just left everything on all the time when they went out. You are right that in warmer weather the money on the meter when people arrive is usually enough for the week.We look forward to seeing you and your family again in the future.

“Peace and relaxation”
Reviewed 20 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Lovely comfortable, clean and well set up bungalow. Homemade cakes were very welcome!
Good views and well located for walkers and for visiting the attractions of the north Devon area.
Perfect for dog owners with lovely big fields on site for off lead exercise to wear out the mutts!
Maps, guidebooks ,DVD's , books are all available to borrow and we found some great walk suggestions.
The owners are friendly and helpful, available by phone or in person if needed.

“Great choice for holiday with young family”

Lovely bungalow - clean, comfortable and well equipped (making cooking easy), really good value. Plenty of parking.

Fantastic grounds and facilities - great little play area which my toddler loved, and it's own fields (which I enjoyed running in), ponds etc to explore. Also a laundry and things like DVDs and toys you are welcome to borrow - this made for an easy and relaxed home from home. There were homemade cakes waiting for us too! I'd heartily re end it for young families.

Great location, five mins in car to lynnouth and lynton, with great views of Exmoor, and with a walk down to the beach possible. Lots to do locally - choice of beaches (busy to remote, sandy or pebbly), great walking, wildlife park, nice places to eat

Really friendly and helpful owners -, eg happily posted something I'd forgotten back to me - and they are keen to continually improve and develop the place

We had a great week - and am sure we'll be back

“The best self-catering holiday accommodation ever!”
Reviewed 27 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The cleanliness of the bungalow was excellent. Comfortable beds with spotless bedding supplied and extra blankets if needed. A shower over bath that worked! Didn't need our cleaning materials as they were supplied in the bungalow. A conservatory room on site with everything you need. Including washing machines, tumble drier and iron. Toys, books and games for children. Maps, where to visit, books and DVDs to borrow, telephone. Owners on site for any help and if not available, their telephone number. The owners were lovely people and a pleasure to talk to and nothing was too much trouble. Two huge fields with wild flowers in abundance, for exercising dogs and a pretty garden with seating and picnic tables. The area is an outstanding naturally beautiful area with lots of places to visit. And shops just a five minute drive away in Lynton. Don't miss the wild goats in the Valley of Rocks. Superb holiday.
