We stayed for 5 nights at The Orchard House and found it to be very clean, very comfortable and Jason and Yvonne, the proprietors friendly, helpful and welcoming. I have a problem with wheat and gluten and was never made to feel that this was in any way a problem, in fact gluten free cakes magically appeared in our room whilst we were out.
We stayed in room 5 which was spacious with a lovely an suite bathroom, the other rooms looked great too as we passed them.
Recommended by us and we look forward to visiting again.

Room tip: Room 5, en suite with views over the river, the town and in the distance, the sea.

We spent two nights in the Orchard House in a very cold February. We had a lovely dinner in the house on our first night that consisted of a roast and dessert.

We enjoyed the wood burner in the living room and the local ciders in the bar ;)

Breakfast was very good and plenty of food.

Negatives, the room was a bit too cold due to the severe temperatures outside and old characterful windows.

We are glad you enjoyed your meals and the cider must admit it is very tasty Sorry to hear you were cold we do have lots of extra blankets and could have easily given them to you had you said we will look to see what can be done with the window but as you say the house is 200 years old and full of character .
We do hope you come back again

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights and were definitely not ready to leave :(

Upon arriving, we were welcomed by the owners who showed us to our beautiful room and provided all the information we needed regarding meal times etc. The room was spotless with plenty of wardrobe space, an easy-to-use shower and an unbelievably comfortable bed - we immediately felt at home!

On the first night of our stay, we decided to eat at the local fish and chip shop which was just shy of a 2 minute walk away, right on the seafront. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of shops so nearby - homemade fudge, local spirits, stunning sheepskin clothing, the list could go on.....

On the second day, we were served our first breakfast at the Orchard House. Fruit juices, hot drinks, jams, toast, cereals to choose from along with the option of a hearty Full English Breakfast. This Full English breakfast cannot be praised enough! Not only do you get a lot of it, but you can tell by the quality that the contents are all locally produced which is a lovely touch. I was already looking forward to the evening meal.

With the breakfast setting us up for the day, we wandered around to see the many sights - starting with a trip to the Barnstaple markets, followed by a walk around the coast and a taste of the local pasties (make sure that you make use of the handy Wi-Fi at Orchard House before heading out, as signal drops pretty much as soon as you step outside!). The perfect thing about Lynmouth is that is only a short drive away from all the surrounding towns, meaning you can really make the most of your stay. There is also a hot tub on the porch of Orchard House which is kindly included in the price.

We were lucky enough to be at The Orchard House on the weekend of Valentine’s Day, which meant a Limited Edition menu was offered. To start, Duck and Port Pâté served with bloomer bread & garlic / fig chutney. Main meal of slow cooked pork in cider sauce and a touch of barbecue with mash. Finally, homemade apple crumble with custard for dessert. Great choices and as I said above, these guys can cook!

Yes, the location, accommodation and food are all top ratings, but it is crystal clear how much the owners put into Orchard House too. They are looking to provide a sterling experience, and that is certainly given in everything that they do. I have no doubt that we will be recommending it to friends and anyone who is looking for a stress free break.

Thank you very much!

I stayed at Orchard House, with my sister and three Jack Russell terriers. We were given a great welcome by Yvonne the owner. The bedroom was large with plenty of room for me and my sister and the dogs, and our bags. I am not good at minimal luggage ! Comfy beds and plenty of hot water. Our room had a shower but Yvonne kindly let us use the bathroom which went with another bedroom that was unoccupied.
The breakfast was good with fresh fruit, homemade croissants and any kind of cooked breakfast.
Dog towels were provided in the lobby to dry paws after a walk; it was very wet one morning! Another welcome touch; when we returned from being out all day there were two slices of delicious home made cake waiting in our room.
Lovely communal sitting room with a log fire and books on the history of Lynmouth , Lynmouth and Devon. Lynmouth is the most dog friendly community I have ever experienced . I hope to return before too long.,Thank you Yvonne and Orchard House. Caroline
