“Lovely secluded holiday home”
Reviewed 7 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Whatever you do, DO NOT FOLLOW THE POSTCODE to find this place. It states it quite clearly on the welcome pack but those staying with us did and ended up miles away in the wrong place. This holiday home is lovely, the hot tub is great, the kids enjoyed the tyre swing and large garden and all of the rabbits! It's close to Exeter so long as you don't mind navigating the country lanes back to the A38, only about a 15-20 minute drive.
It's very very secluded which is excellent at night as you can sit in the garden star gazing and actually see the arm of the galaxy because it's so clear with no light pollution anywhere near you. The house is brilliant, so old and character full, and the master bedroom has an exceptionally comfortable memory foam super king size bed! We would definitely recommend it for a secluded holiday in the country.
There is only one thing to watch out for, there's no wifi and barely any phone signal (on EE at least) so prepare to take a break from civilization.

Due to the very old, thick walls in the lodge it is tricky to find phone reception so you have to move around a little. However, outside the majority of networks have full reception, even 4G from Exeter.

“WOW! Simply wonderful.”
Reviewed 16 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This was a perfect place for a long weekend away with friends. We were blessed with wonderful weather which made the view one of the best we have seen from any holiday property. Inside the lodge has a dream like quality and it wraps its arms around you and makes you smile. On the practical side the beds were very comfortable and the linen lovely to the touch. The hot tub was great and enjoyed daily by all of us...twice daily by me! We saw the deer and walked in the woods through carpets of bluebells. We sat outside at night to listen to the owls and watch the bats put on a great display. The Ley Arms at Kenn has free wi-fi if needed as well as good beer. We visited Teignmouth and loved it. The owners are charming and have two delightful children and Nicki was great at replying to queries...we wish we could have stayed longer but we will definitely return.

“Great place, fantastic views particularly from the hot tub at sunrise !!!!”
Reviewed 4 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Had a great week, travelled with 4 with kids ranging from 8 to 16.. They all had a great time. Its a beautiful Lodge set in a tranquil and peaceful setting. Seeing the sunrise over the river Exe whilst sat in the hot tub is just fantastic. The property is well equipped and the hosts are nearby should you need any help or advice. I would recommend this Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful location and a great base to explore South Devon.

“Relaxing retreat”
Reviewed 12 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We were warmly welcomed to Exeter Lodge and immediately fell in love with the view. The lodge catered for our every need and although there were 6 of us, it was spacious for our weekend break. Highlights were early mornings in the hot tub and watching deer walking in the field. It's a 10 minute drive to Haldon forest which is a great place for kids/dogs/cyclists/walkers. A perfect, relaxing break.

“Excellent place, Lovely area, fantastic owners.”
Reviewed 2 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We have just had five fantastic days in the Exeter Lodge in Oxton. The owners Graham and Nicky have turned one of the old gatehouses to Oxton House into a really high spec place to stay, the views are just fantastic and I really could not find a fault in anything.
The owners are a really nice couple who went out ofthere way to make sure we had a great stay and we thank them for coming to our assistance when arriving.
The property has a lovely garden, a secluded Jaccuzzi with stunning views and is in easy reach of the motorway to be able to explore some of the most picturesque villagers in the UK. We loved it and cant wait to re visit.
