My husband and I have been visiting (and loving) Dartmouth for the last couple of years. We absolutely love spending New Year there, however staying at The Crow's Nest has definitely been the most welcoming stay to date. We usually don't return to the same place twice in terms of accommodation as we like to have new experiences, however, we will surely return here. It's quirky, cute, beautifully kitted out and so very welcoming. The hosts are just fantastic- chilled yet highly efficient, a perfect combination! If you're looking for a relaxing, homely place to rest your feet, a stone's throw from the river, this is it. There's a lovely bathroom (as opposed to a tiny en-suite), with every last detail to suit your needs. There was gorgeous bubble bath and toiletries, fresh milk in the fridge, mince pies (it was December!) and a mobile number to hand should we need anything. It was so flexible without having breakfast here, as there are many, many cafes to sit and enjoy breakfast at, without a time being dictated. We stayed in the family room, which was great even without children! The bed was comfortable and as soon as we walked out the front door we were already part of the bustling streets of Dartmouth. It's especially convenient after a good meal and a bottle of wine, not far at all to walk back! The Apprentice restaurant is a very short walk from The Crow's Nest, highly recommended. As I said earlier, the hosts were just great. The kind of people you could share a cup of tea with and feel like you've known them for years! We especially loved the family photo area as you walk up the stairs, it tells a real story of their lives together through the generations of their family- this is a personal touch you would never get in a hotel! A big thankyou to Alan and Val. We will surely return. Best wishes, Sally and Dean Jarrott.
