“A great place to stay.”

One of the best holiday let's we've stayed in; comfortable, clean and furnished to a high standard throughout. The village of Lindale is quiet and picturesque with lovely cottage gardens. There is plenty to do in the area. Walks, boating on Windermere or Coniston, a vist to the Motor Museum in Backbarrow and the model village in Flookburgh is a one off and well worth a visit.
Lindale is quiet and when the sun comes out, the garden is a really peaceful suntrap! Plenty of birds to provide the soundtrack!
Nowhere is far away and you can choose country lane routes or main roads for most journeys.
If you go to Ulverston on Thursday there is a street market selling mostly fruit, veg and plants. A must there is Gillams coffee shop for the largest selection of teas and coffees we've ever come across.
We had a great holiday and would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others with one proviso- it is not suitable for anyone with motability difficulties.

“A delightful cottage in a friendly village”

One Fern Cottage lived up to my expectations in every way. The village is in a convenient place to explore the Lake District and the Cumbrian peninsulas. Grange Over Sands is a five minute drive and has supermarkets and restaurants.

The cottage is well stocked, has every convenience and also quality appliances and furniture. The queen sized bed is somewhat soft but comfortable. The shower and bath are excellent.

The local pub, The Royal Oak, serves excellent meals and is a five minute walk from the cottage. There is a small village shop and post office a block away.

“Wonderful stay in quaint cottage”

One Fern Cottages is a beautiful quaint cottage. Notwithstanding its age, it has all the modern features anyone could want. It's in the middle of a quiet village with lots of attractions within an easy drive. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone, particularly if you're looking for something with character and a little bit different. it wouldn't be suitable for people with disabilities and may not suit all older travellers.

“cosy clean warm and away from it all”
Reviewed 23 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We have stayed here 4 times now. Each time everything has been perfect and no complaints. It is quaint with some really old features like the wood fire, rickety flooring and some low exposed beams. If you mind your head its a price worth paying for the comfort. A great balance between modern comforts ( central heating, wifi, leather suites and electric keyboard) with the old traditional and this worked really well for us. Being able to park one car immediately opposite the property in a bespoke place was really convenient.
