Visited with family who were staying in St Mawes. This had become a regular stop for them in the evening because of the friendly atmosphere and welcome. We took them to lunch here and had the same experience.
Very friendly welcome, they found us a lovely table in the upstairs restaurant overlooking the harbour and we had a really nice experience with great, and most importantly, friendly service throughout a very leisurely lunch. It's a lovely building as well - must be one of, if not the oldest,

We had a lovely fur lunch here. The sweet potato soup was excellent as was the pint of ale.
Nice premises, well maintained and nice staff.
It’s tucked up a lane off the Main Street along the harbour but worth looking for.

We were staying at The Ship & Castle hotel and so couldn't miss this hostelry right next door ! Always yearned for a good crab sandwich and was well satisfied with the crab caught earlier in the day. The only drawback was the price £10.50! Still a special treat. The atmosphere was good and the place was tastefully decorated. However, the seating was somewhat cramped and was difficult to squeeze between tables.

A measure of a good Pub/Restaurant is to maintain standards over a period of time. The Management and staff at the Victory prove on each visit that they keep pushing the boundaries and strive to ensure everyone is happy when they eat here. They listen to what people ask for and whenever possible accommodate requests. Menu is just right--not too many choices but specials added daily. Food and service excellent .Well worth a visit for the first time and definitely an Inn that gets repeat custom.
