Been to a few John Fowler holiday centres but never been to here but have visited in the past. What is being done is amazing, the redevelopment of the park and accommodation is great. There new lodges are so luxurious, don't want to leave here. The spec of the lodge is platinum, onsuite bathroom for the bedroom, also flat screen tv's in both the lounge and master bedroom. In the living area is a socket where you can connect your mobile phone to have audio through the built in speakers. Overall, well recommended to all, it was a last minute booking for us, we dealt with the lovely Kayleigh in there booking centre who was great in finding something for us as a family.

Hello Baker Boy

What a wonderful review, thank you, we really appreciate it. Your praise will mean so much to the management and staff at the park.

Our new lodges and the renovation of the older accommodation are proving to be the making of The St Ives Holiday Village and we are pleased that you were able to share the delights of this major improvement.

Thank you for your remarks about Kayleigh in the booking office - these people, although they may be in the background, more often than not are a major part of the holiday experience.

I am delighted to hear that you had a great time. Please come back and see us again, our returning customers are very important to us.

Recently stayed at st ives holiday village John Fowler’s to celebrate my dads 60th. Had a fantastic time, we stayed in a gold chalet, very clean and modern, would definitely recommend paying extra and upgrading to gold. There’s lots to do on site, staff are very friendly, great distance from St ives and surrounding areas, perfect location. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back in the future.

This is not a place to holiday. The accommodation is a disgrace.

What they call a "chalet" is more like a glorified portacabin which we rejected as it smelled of mould and damp and the photos on the website are very misleading. When we complained (along with 3 other families complaining at the same time) the only option we were given was the by the manager was a "luxury holiday home" which one of the other families had rejected..."luxury" I don't think so...the beds we effectively camp bed, the mattresses must be the cheapest they could find as they were so hard and u can feel every metal spring, even covering them with 2 quilts didn't make them any more comfortable. No soap, washing liquid, spong/cloth or tea towel to wash the filthy cups and cutlery. Plug in air fresheners everywhere to disguise the bad smells.

So totally disappointed having saved for this holiday for it to be ruined by an overpriced, dirty, smelly accommodation.

Hello Debs

Anyone reading any of my responses will be aware that I very seldom dispute anything that is written by our clients, but sadly, for the benefit of any future customers who may be reading your review, this is an occasion where I have no alternative.

Your review is totally unfair. Firstly the holiday was booked through Hoseasons, who are a very successful travel agency, who let independent holiday parks throughout the country. They are very discerning as to who they choose to be displayed in their brochure - this park is privileged to be included. Modern day trading standards laws would not allow photos to be anything other than accurate and this can easily be checked by anyone wishing to do so.

Secondly, the upgrade you were given was to one of our nearly new lodges and certainly not as you depict. This upgrade was given at absolutely no extra charge, despite the difference in price being some £200.

The fact that the park was not to your taste appears to have spoilt your holiday and I am very sorry but I feel this situation is not of our making. I suspect that you will receive a similar reply from Hoseaons.

Have stayed here before and been completely satisfied with the park, accommadation was excellent, we had a gold lodge, staff really good, nothing was too much trouble for them even bringing our drinks to the table for us, shame the buses weren't running but being early in the season there was no problem parking in St Ives or Penzance. Entertainment was not bad and the youngsters enjoyed themselves with the stripeys, will be going again.

The lodge was a little dated but perfectly adequate, didn't really have time to explore the site but my 3 year old daughter attended the kids club every evening and loved it. The staff were lovely and fully engaging with the kids. Hopefully will visit again.

Hello Rhibee

What a lovely review! Thank you, we really appreciate it.

Your 4 star praise will mean so much to the manager, Kevin and his team at the park. They all work extremely hard to make everyone’s stay enjoyable.

I doubt very much if you were staying in a lodge because all our lodges are brand new within the past 3 years. Perhaps you were in one of our chalets or villas. I say this, not to correct you, but to inform anyone reading your lovely review,

We look forward to welcoming you again very soon.
