“Fantastic Christmas break”
Reviewed 29 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

On arrival we were welcomed with mulled wine, mince pies, cream and a Christmas tree, making our family christmas at the cottage even more perfect. It was great for four adults and two small children. The location is fantastic, shops, parking, beaches and restaurants within walking distance.
We have been holidaying in St Ives for over 20 years and this has to be up in the top three.

“Cute & Cosy Cottage”
Reviewed 11 December 2014 for a stay in September 2014

I stayed here with 3 other adults & it was perfect.

The house is beautiful (the kitchen is gorgeous!), the information provided by the owner was very good, the house is very close - walking distance to the beach, good value.

The only negative was that the shower is very small & had a problem with the toilet, but that wasn't too much of a worry. It was a little difficult to find & get luggage to the front door but again, not too much of a worry.

Not good if you are disabled due to the steps/hill and size of house.

“Great location ideal for kids beach holiday”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here with our family of two adults and three children aged 9,8 and 6. It is a very comfortable and cosy cottage, but the best thing about it is its location!

Not only is it just a short walk to the beach - ideal for those exhausted kids after surfing and bodyboarding - but also right in the middle of the buzzing St Ives centre. The cottage itself is in a very quiet location so although you are close to all the restaurants and shops you don't notice this and the cottage is a great place to relax and have some peace & quiet. The only noisy thing are the seagulls who do wake you up early in the morning, but we got used to this towards the end of the week.

For a family of 5 the cottage is quite small (with one of the children sleeping in the living room) and especially the bathroom shower is narrow, but we managed and everyone really enjoyed the cottage. The only other drawback was parking, and especially unloading which requires either a long walk with suitcases to the car or a challenging driving maneuver reversing down a very steep, narrow road. But then this was only needed at the beginning and end of the stay.

Overall we had an absolutely fantastic holiday in St Ives and this was a great cottage for a holiday to combine both beach and holiday town without having to drive everywhere, all in walking distance.

“Ideal Location - Nice personal touches but shabby in places due to poor maintence”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We loved the location and some of the cottages personal touches were lovely, but the outside terrace was a let down. It was tatty over grown and un-loved. The bed settee was not suitable for our teenage daughter and unfortunately was originally without bedding from the Saturday until Monday afternoon. (called the 24 hour housekeeper on the Saturday but no response until Monday) . So three children had to share the bunk beds. This would suit a family of four.
The 24 hour housekeeping needs addressing as we reported the toilet not flushing correctly on the Monday and it was finally rectified by the Friday afternoon. Sorry this sounds negative but we did have a lovely hoiday.

Management Response
12 Aug 2014
Hi I am so sorry that you had a couple of issues that were not resolved. We endeavour to make sure that everything as you would like it to be. I am sorry that the garden was overgrown and your response from the housekeeping service was not as it should be. We will try to do better ! We always provide bedding for the number that is booked for. The bedding for the sofa bed is stored inside the antique pine box in the lounge. I am glad that you still had a lovely time in St Ives.

“Perfect wee house for holidaying in St Ives”
Reviewed 28 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This cottage is a hidden gem, nestled in the historic narrow streets of St Ives. Ideally situated for the beach (2 minutes walk) and extremely handy for the excellent local shops, restaurants and cafe's that the town has on offer. Even with it's perfectly central location, the house is tucked away down a narrow lane - only accessible by foot - so there is no traffic noise and it was a particularly quiet spot at night.

The owner was very helpful and provided lots of useful information about some of the best things to do in the locality.

We'd all love to go back someday. Highly recommended. PS if anyone finds a tiny Cornish pixie in the house its ours: we bought it for our 4 year old boy but he lost it somewhere in the house.
