What a find! We stayed here after the school holidays had finished, so it was lovely and peaceful. No external noise whatsoever. The studio was very well equipped, and very comfortable indeed. It was also suprisingly spacious. The exposed stone walls within, made it feel very cosy too. The private access to the beach, together with the private parking space, was just the icing on the cake. The studio is located in a very quiet area of St Ives, adjacent to the wonderful Porthmeor Beach, and lots of little independent art galleries. There is even an 'Open All Hours' type of store, across from the entrance to the complex, which stocks everything you would need, including fresh bread and pastries every morning. We would not hesitate in stopping here again, it felt like a real 'home from home'. Highly recommended! Thank you..

“Lovely little studio”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed here for the past week and we had a lovely time - the studio has everything you need including a washing machine & dishwasher...

Shirley is lovely and so is Tim...

I have given 4 stars on the basis that we had the recycling bins right outside meaning every morning we were awoken to the sound of bottles being put in the bins and also this is the turning spot right outside the studio which did make us lack privacy...

We really can recommend this place despite the two points mentioned...

“What a find!”

The studio apartment has everything you could want. Loved the bathroom towels - fastest drying towels in the West! The best bit was opening the private door onto the beach - what a sight for sore eyes. We took a video of this and friends and family cannot believe the view of the beach and sea - simply beautiful.

You are just a short stroll from all bars/restaurants and shops so we didn't use the car once.

Will be back that's for sure.

“Location, location, location!!!”
Reviewed 2 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

A gem in a superb location. Hidden away, nestled alongside quaint yet outstanding art galleries and Hepworth sculpture. St Ives was bustling but you wouldn't have known it thanks to the private and secure entrance to Porthmeor beach, quite possibly St Ives best.

The apartment is compact and well presented with everything you'd need. Personal and friendly service from the owners. We cannot recommend The Old Salt House more.

“A little gem in St Ives, only 50 yds from Porthmeor beach, with a parking space !”

What a fantastic week we had here. Our hosts were really pleasant to deal with throughout and we couldn't fault it. Perfect location being so close to the beach yet only a 3 minute walk from the harbour and shops.

Very quiet spot in a private complex meant we were never disturbed by noise. Apartment is ideal for a couple - young or old.

Despite the location we found that driving through the small streets wasn't as bad as expected; an easy route round the harbour, up the hill... and we were there. The one-way streets didn't pose a problem at all.

Would recommend The Old Salthouse without hesitation and would give it a perfect 10 out of 10. We will be back as soon as we can !
