“A charming cottage in an amazing location.”
Reviewed 26 November 2012 for a stay in October 2012

This was our first stay in St Ives and we were not disappointed. Perfect location being near
the wonderful beach of Porthmeor and the quaint centre with enjoyable shops to browse. We loved the cottage and found the shower room downstairs a bonus .The owners are obviously keen cooks as the kitchen appeared well planned for a holiday rental.Even our teenage children were impressed! We intend to return very soon as it ticked all the boxes on everybody's wish list. Thank you Derrick.

“Fantastic!!”
Reviewed 4 September 2012 for a stay in May 2012

We stayed at Love Cottage in May 2012 and found the accommodation to be excellent . Location was great with everything within a couple of minutes walk (beach, shops, restaurants etc) and the cottage itself contained everything you could possibly need for a stay.

With 2 very small children we found all the extra touches incredibly useful....beach toys, windbreak, outside drying area, washing machine, high chair, cot etc etc etc and the fully equiped kitchen meant that we wanted for nothing during our stay.

The furniture and decoration is entirely appropriate and very comfortable...in fact there was nothing at all that I would suggest needed changing.....so much so that we are going back again in October!

I would thoroughly recommend a stay here!

“Ideal base for exploring St Ives”
Reviewed 22 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We picked this cottage from TripAdvisor, and were contacted promptly by the owners to confirm all the details. I think there were some booking details supposed to be posted through, these hadn't arrived before we left home (I'm writing this while we're still in St Ives) but Liz and Derrick e-mailed all the details on request. Arrival instructions were about as good as could possibly be given the slight maze that is St Ives.

The accommodation is very comfortable and has pretty much everything you might want, including a decent size TV in the lounge with DVD, BT Vision and wifi, and all the essentials in the kitchen. The cottage is one main bedroom, a double-bunk (ie kids) room and a lounge that could be a double-sofa-bedroom but you'd be living on top of each other if you had six occupiers. Decent bathroom/shower, separate shower/loo, cosy kitchen. The cottage has been converted to be accessed through the back door via a lockable outside area (shared with next door) which provided various beach equipment, barbeque etc. The cottage is within a couple of minutes stroll from the high street, harbour front, grocery ship etc and within five minutes walk there is every type of restaurant, tea shop, pub etc you could ever want as well as banks and larger Co-ops. The owners provide a visitors' book with useful information and some local guides and recommendations.

Being St Ives, the only downside is parking - the cottage is just off Porthmoer Square which has maybe half a dozen rather challenging spaces (if you get lucky), good for unloading although you'll be driving through pedestrian-ish areas en route, and there is a much larger, more accessible Barnoon carpark (sometimes still had to wait for spaces during the day) which takes coins or phone/online payment (www.myringgo.com). Barnoon is about seven minutes walk up the hill. Routes and parking are worth a recce in advance on Google maps/streetmap etc., and don't rely on Satnavs in St. Ives as ours had a different understanding of the one-way system compared with reality. The net effect is you'll probably want to either stay in St Ives for the day or go out for the day, you won't be popping to the car and back regularly. But St Ives and the local area are well-suited to this, with plenty of pleasant places to visit within no more than an hour.

All in all, everything we had hoped for for a quiet UK summer holiday in a lovely little seaside town.

“Lovely accomodation”
Reviewed 7 May 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Went for a 2 night break and found the accomodation clean and equipped for everything. As a family holiday with a youngster small details like beach equipment was a greatful addition. Whilst appeared 'compact' (as all in that area) it fitted the whole family in with ease. Would definately reccomend, and is in the miidle of St Ives, two minute walk from the harbour and beach. Parking is the only downfall, luckily went out of season!
