My husband and I have just had an awesome stay in Pednolver Apartment 2 with our dogs. I couldn't rate it any better. Mark was amazingly helpful on the run up to our trip. We arrived to the fire lit, and welcome basket filled full with local goodies... We started our break with freshly ground Cornish coffee and scones, local clotted cream and home made jam. We watched over the sea munching happily playing cards. Despite Mark being happy with taking the dogs the apartment was impeccably kept with not a dogsmell or hair in sight. It was a beautiful place to be,surprisingly big with a view of the sea from the bed (if you like) while having coffee in the morning. We will defo be going back! St. Ives is lovely too... We were blessed by fine weather but even if we weren't it really wouldn't have mattered, highly recommended and did not want to come home! Enjoy!!
I have never written a review before and probably never will again. I think that people should make their own decisions and stand by them - but an exceptional experience has prompted me to write this review.
So I won't say too much about the apartment - look at the website and believe that it does just what it says on the tin (the views are wonderful and, in November, there was the added bonus of a cosy, realistic looking and efficient gas fire - you really should make more mention of that on the website Mark !)
But it was Mark, the owner who was the revelation. We had stayed at Pednolver for two happy nights and were then booked into the Cove Inn at Lamorna for two nights. Arriving at the Cove at 5pm, after a long day's coastal walking, we found that it had closed down the previous week and that the owner had absconded with our £190 deposit and left us very much in the lurch (cue wife in tears at the realisation that she may have to wake up the next morning - her birthday - in the car !)
I then remembered that 'Sir Mark of Pednolver' had already....for no apparent reason other than....well, he is just that kind of person....offered us a free extra nights stay at apartment 3 (we stayed Friday and Saturday and he said we could stay the Sunday if we wanted because the apartment was unoccupied - he had also sent us a text on the Friday morning at 10.30 am saying that the apartment was ready if we wanted to turn up early....when was the last time you had that happen ?!)
So I phoned him and explained the situation and could we change our minds and take him up on his offer? Of course we could (he seemed genuinely concerned) - and not only that, for a token amount of £50, we could stay on the Monday night as well !!!!! So we returned for another 2 happy nights at Pednolver - problem solved holiday back on track and wife's birthday salvaged.
Now you shouldn't (and I wouldn't) expect this to become the norm - but it just illustrates the type of guy Mark is and this may possibly reflect on your judgement if you are undecided about a booking.
Thanks again Mark - one of the good guys (oh...and did I mention the basket of goodies and cream tea that was waiting in the apartment................)
