We were really excited to stay here. When we arrived it looked lovely from the outside so charming and what a fabulous location! Inside however the first thing as you walk in is the smell of damp and the house is looking quite unloved. Furniture and cushions dirty looking. Bits of carpet all over the floors the kitchen was old and grubby the oven had cobwebs in it?! The washer was in a cupboard blocked behind the sofa. So you had to pull the sofa out to get to it. Climb over the sofa to put you clothes in and out. Bathroom was mouldy due to leaking shower screen and general damp, lights not working when we arrived (just no bulbs in!), ironing board broken, radiators wouldn't come on. TV was tiny and no free view even. The amenities were really poor and lack of thought seemed to be taken for guests. We chose not to spend time in the cottage and didn't cook at all. On the upside the master bedroom was clean and fresh and although the little bedroom was a bit fusty it was livable when windows left open in day. All towels and bedding were freshly laundered and as said location wise this place was wonderful. So upset about it as could be small but beautiful if cleaned and cared for (upgraded a bit) and more thought put in for visitors -was the real down point to our trip :-(
We really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to return. This compact cottage is tastefully decorated, well maintained and has everything you need for your stay. Port Isaac is a great place to visit with plenty of choice for dining out if you should choose to. Having said that we also took pleasure in cooking in the well equipped kitchen for a cosy night in. All in all a a very special little place to stay.
